Should I buy a MacBook Pro now?

Guys,

Hate to be a bother again but I stopped into the Apple store tonight and I was talking with one of the guys...

he mentioned the following:

He said that it might be a wise choice to go with the mid-level 15in, not the base model? Full of crap or truth?

I looked at the anti-glare screen on a 17in they had at the store and I did not like that, it has a silver border around it vs the black border, and I didnt find that too appealing to my eyes.

The 17 in...my last PC was a 17 in and it was just too heavy.. should I stick with the 15 in?

He talked about MobileMe...worth it? I have a iPhone as well.

iLife...does anyone know if I buy it now as the '09 version.. will apple upgrade you to the '11 version for a lower cost?

AirPort Express...wireless playback of iTunes in anyroom...worth it?

Is it worth getting the iPod touch after rebate?

Which printer should I spring for? He said cannons are good...

I hate to keep asking these quetions but it is a ton of money I will be shelling out and I want to be sure I get what is needed for me.

I hate to keep asking these quetions but it is a ton of money I will be shelling out and I want to be sure I get what is needed for me.

1. Base model will be fine.
2. I purchased standard resolution, then gave it to my partner and purchased hi-res, now have just purchased the standard resolution again and going to sell hi-res. If you don't like the hi-res in store, don't get it.
3. 15" is much more portable than 17". Get an additional monitor if you need more screen real-estate while at your desk.
4. MobileMe can be useful. I like the fact that I can track my iPhone and remotely wipe it should it ever be lost or stolen.
5. iLife is rumored to be updated next week. I ordered my new Macbook Pro yesterday, due to arrive any minute. If iLife is updated in the next two weeks I will just give Apple a call. I am sure they will provide an update at no cost in this time frame.
6. I have an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station, so can't help you there, sorry.
7. A free iPod touch? If you have an iPhone, would something like an iPod Nano be more suitable (that is what I went for). You can always sell the iPod touch and this would reduce the cost of your Macbook Pro.
8. I would recommend the Canon printers also. The MP560 is quite a good printer for the price - the MP640 is exactly the same apart from the ability to print discs. The MP990 uses way too much ink to make it a viable purchase.

Don't buy the 2.53GHz. It's only a few percent faster than the 2.4GHz in benchmarks. In general use you will never notice the difference. The only thing you get out of it is the 500GB harddrive instead of the 320GB. But for the same price you can get an additional 500GB disk of your choosing.

Ended up going with the base model 15 in. Do you all think that was enough? I am almost thinking that the 17in would have been nice.

Got the apple care, getting office business 2008 through the Microsoft education program for $119.99, incase sleeve, Got the new HP all-in-one, got the iPod touch (will try to sell that, where should I sell it??) and I got the iKleaner stuff.
