Just installed this on mine, though just the trackpad and palm rest areas... nervous about sweat causing the AL to deteriorate (had that problem on a couple of much older MBPs, which might not be an issue anymore, but didn't want to chance it), and you're right, it's almost invisible, and still feels nice.

Yea, my first ever MacBook Laptop which was a MacBook Air had marks around the palm and the trackpad that could not be removed. Every MacBook I bought after that I made sure had some sort of skin protecting the area. Indeed feels nice!

Did you go with clear or matte? I went with matte, but had a hard time deciding.

Definitely went with Matte since that was recommended if I wanted it to be as invisible as possible. Their website says Gloss gives you better grip. Maybe you could separately order the outer skins as Glossy and then the inside Matte?

Do you guys think the skins are not good for the MacBook's chassis? And do you guys think it's even worth it if you already have a sleeve, I just want the skin for safety.

Have used them for years. Never a problem for me.

My 2012 MBP has travelled with me to 5 continents and who knows how many countries, has been used on buses, planes, in cafes, on boats and left in a London cab and returned 5 days later and it literally has 3 small scratches on the bottom.

I wouldn't bother.

Slickwraps has 50% off right now so you can grab a skin for the top bottom and inside for just 25 bucks! You can also design your own skin! I will definitely try that out :)!

Slickwraps prices their skins so high from the beginning that 50% off still puts it at the same price as a dbrand skin which I find to be higher in quality from using both and dbrand ships their order same day sometimes next day where as you may be waiting for 3-5 days before slickwraps even ships since they don't keep anything in stock and everything is printed as you order.

"How fast do MacBooks scratch anyway?"

They "scratch" as rapidly as you gouge them.
(That's intended as a serious reply)

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro with no scratches at all.
Then again, I took good care of it...

Those with Bestskinsever, I have used their products in the past on phones and tablets but on the laptop how do you avoid getting water into the vents ports during the install.

If you watch you tube videos for installing the skin, people usually hold a towel over the vents when they are squigying out the excess "solution".

Id rather not take the risk with a $15 skin that some excess water could ruin my $2700 computer. Id much prefer a dry application in this situation like Dbrand.

If dBrands had a clear one I would buy one of theirs. But, I bought a space gray unit to see the Space Gray.

I want to turn my MacBook into a old school blackbook, but they don't offer a white cutout for the apple logo.

I just looked at the skins, and they really don't match with the aluminum sides of the MacBook...

I mean, id like to think we all bought a space grey MacBook Pro because the choices were that or silver. Given the choice of more colors I'm sure most people would like a white, black, red, etc MacBook. I myself have one of the new black camo ones on the way from dbrand. I actually do like the hero series from slick wraps specifically the black panther one, but their turnaround time is ridiculously slow and their skins in general are much softer and flimsier and therefore a little more difficult to install.

I just ordered the Matte White skin because it would look way better on my silver MacBook alongside the white Magic Mouse!

Not me. I just want to protect the factory look. Not trying to customize it. Just don't want it to get scratched up because I had a brain fart.

I am not sure why dBrands and other decal types don't just make a clear cover. Maybe they cannot with the material they use.

Slickwraps does make one. Bestskinsever as well as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I ordered a Best Skin Ever clear skin because I want to see the space gray color, but also want a little scratch protection.
Best Skins Ever. It's in the name. I've used their stuff for years. My 2012 Air looks brand new after 6 years because of the top and bottom skins. And you still see the color. My father in law uses a snap on shell. I don't care for those as much.

I installed bodyguardz clear skin 2 days ago (glossy). My previous installation of the same skin in 2011 has kept my late 2010 MBA looking new, so no reason to change brands for me. Happy with clean look.
