so true. that's the bad thing about technology, it keeps getting better ;)

Yup. You just have to ask yourself what do you need in an iPhone? Maybe you don't NEED anything in an iPhone but just WANT every feature imaginable to be released in the next one...no...maybe the next one....no...maybe the next one...you see where I'm going.

What will satisfy you for maybe, what...a year or two before you feel you need to upgrade? Because upgrades will come at least once a year and major upgrades will probably take more like every two years. In other words, you might be the type that always wants MORE. I know I am and I will probably go through life upgrading to a new iPhone every couple of years. I don't own one yet because of contract restraints and I've been patiently waiting since day one (June 07) and now 2 years down the line it's finally closing in on when I will get my first iPhone. I dunno if I'll be willing to sell my first one for a newer one a short year after purchasing it so I'll probably cycle mine out every 2 years for the rest of my life or until Apple is gone or possibly THAT iPhone killer lurking in the shadows persuades me elsewhere.

Good Luck with your decision. ;)

I couldn't agree more!

hey brennan i could probably help you out if you're thinking about getting an iphone 3g. just tell me what you want in a phone. sometimes people get the iphone for the wrong reasons and end up paying 30$ extra for no reason at all and could get a phone that does what they need to do.I'm talking about all those texters out there lol. Just think about it because that's what helped me decide to get the iphone. I was saving up for both a phone and an mp3 and only had 300$ so i thought why not just get both? It worked out both ways and now ever since i suspended my account i use my iphone as touch since its jailbroken so its really great i couldnt be any happier.

I'm due to upgrade in two weeks.

Am I going to? Nope.

Of course, all devices improve over time, and yes, the next iPhone won't be THAT much better than the current one...but we know it's coming, and we have a general idea when.

What we don't know is how much better it will be, but I'm not that desperate that I can't wait to find out, so I'm gonna hang on.

Personally, I think it will be quite a lot better in the hardware department (faster, more memory, better camera and longer-lasting battery), all of which would be worth the wait. Or it may just have one of those.

Either way, my current phone still works and that will do till the summer.
