I don't think the nano camera is better than the RAZR's. It only takes video because the image quality for still pictures is very bad.

You really want the iPhone camera, which has better resolution. Or even a better one with 5MP or more that takes nice still pictures, video, and supports autofocusing, zoom, etc. The lack of a flash is also a negative aspect of this integration.

Just consider that one of the Sony phones already offers an 8MP camera with flash.

If you really want the camera, then I would say to wait until next year.

The March 2010 date is probable because that's when they have made other announcements in the past. Not necessarily media related, but it is a possibility. That's also the time when the rumors say the "tablet" will be announced.

Another dates are June/July (iPhone updates) and then, obviously, September (media event).

If you absolutely need a media player, then go with any of the choices offered now that meet most of your needs sans the camera. From what you said, the iPod touch 32gb is the best choice as Apple eliminated the 16GB and you want the speed increase. You just need to bite the bullet and "survive" without the camera.

Well, there's "more" info in the post above me about the March 2010 number, but where do people come up with this stuff. I'm sure I've cauhgt up with the rumors and stuff now, but I don't know where this March 2010 is coming from.

But yeah. I'm going for the iPod Touch G3/3G, partly because I don't have a Touch at this moment, and I've kinda broken down, and can't really wait any longer.

to tell you the truth, you are only holding out for a VGA quality, which is like the worst cellphone quality, unless apple steps up and puts in like a decent flip mino HD type camera, which won't happen because that would increase costs, and we'd probably be looking at another 500 dollar 32gb model (which was REALLY RIDICULOUS by the way, **** apple for even coming out with that **** in the first place.) So unless you REALLY want it for the apps, there is no point.

Well, there's "more" info in the post above me about the March 2010 number, but where do people come up with this stuff.

Just look at the events from the last two years:

January 08 and 09: Keynote
March 08 and 09: "Sneak Peek" Event
June 08 and 09: WWDC Keynote Address
September 08 and 09: Music Keynote Event
October 08: Apple Special Event

So, technically, there should be some announcement during March 2010.

Alright. Thanks for clarification. (Sorry if I sounded rude towards you, I didn't mean for it to come out like that.) But I don't think they'll release it at the sneak peek, though there might be an announcement as you said. And "Sneak Peek" is probably not giving out any large amounts information, but more saying, "We have something in store for you guys, and we're going to show you a small preview," not something like "We're making an iPod Touch with a Camera," if you know what I mean. (I don't know if I totally misunderstood what you just said, but that was my take on it :p)

Quick question.
Since when was there a new Touch coming out in March 2010?
(I might be a little late here, but I haven't heard anything about that.)

I did not say anything of an ipod touch coming out on 2010, i just told him or her to wait, till 2010, b/c 6 months from now it will be march, or early feb, and from the past the ipod shuffle was introduced on march 2009

another thought... if you know anyone buying a new macbook, i think apple is still doing the free touch promotion, right? if so, you can likely find a good deal on one if someone doesn't need it. for instance, if i purchased got a free touch with a macbook, i would sell it right away... i have the iphone and a shuffle so there is no need.

good luck.

Just a little question. What's the difference to the average user between the 8gb 2nd gen and 3rd gen? And in my opinion, "leaving a camera out" isn't what enabled the lowest touch to be available for $199. The fact that it is pretty much a 2nd gen and is already old news is what makes it available for $199. They should've dropped the 8gb to $159. The nano's can stay their price. They're actually worth it now. lol.
