nope, it will automatically power in as soon as you open it and have a pretty decent charge already. Mine had 86%Finally my beloved M2 is here!

+1 for AlDente. I use the pro version and it has been well worth the money. I also like that I don't have to pay for a sub.I'd say just use it however you wish. It doesn't really matter. I do recommend Al Dente though.

This is generally my feeling about how to handle devices with modern batteries. Avoiding draining the battery to 0% is the thing that seems to improve battery longevity most.Use it. Charge it whenever but I'd try and keep above 15%.
Never discharge it fully.
