What "attitude"? I'm just a little annoyed that I can't get my faulty phone replaced.

The attitude he's talking about is entitlement. And look, I'm not saying you're acting all high and mighty or anything. Don't take it the wrong way. But you've definitely got to have some perspective here. If you really feel like the issue is so bad that you need to have a replacement immediately rather than 3-4 weeks from now, then go ahead and call, get another CSR on the phone, and try again.

Just don't give them a hard time. I completely agree that your particular issue warrants a replacement much more than scuffgate and whatnot, but just try to be understanding that it's not really the best time right now to be hunting for replacement units.

tl;dr: Demand is a strong word, maybe repeatedly request?

Good point.

Exactly! They do have the stock, they're just too lazy to source it from one of their stores.

Even after the 30 day period, they still have an obligation to replace it under warranty, but you make a good point. I do intend to call them back tomorrow.

After 30 days, they may want to give you a refurb not new. And mistakes do happen OP, so if I were you I would call again and ask for someone higher up to resolve this issue so you won't go over the 30 days and may have other issues pop up. Just a friendly suggestion and good luck with this. ;) :apple:

Ha ha ha ha, you paid $900 for a phone!!!???

Like a huge number of people outside the US, yes, I bought mine unlocked. But it also means I'm not tied to an expensive contract for two years.

I probably should have said 'insist' instead of 'demand' :D I'm not going to be yelling at anyone over the phone. I won't ever do that for any reason. Fair's fair, but I do believe I am entitled to the fault-free product I paid for. And I understand that now isn't the best time for replacements, I'm just a bit peeved that other people on this forum can get numerous replacements, one person had six, whereas I can't get one. I'm not steaming from my ears over this, I think everyone's got the wrong idea about what I mean.

I think you're right. :) I will definitely call them back, I might even try their customer relations.

I hear ya, man. There are some insane stories of replacements going around. It makes me sick lol

Good luck with yours, it's surely deserved.

Has anyone managed to swap a black iphone for white, either in an apple store or via applecare when purchased at a place other than apple.

This refers to UK customers.

I don't live anywhere near an Apple Store unfortunately. The closest is a 6 hour drive away. This is part of my issue. I am forced to use Apple's phone support. And Apple's phone support tells me I have to wait 4/5 weeks, while everyone in the city can get as many replacements as they need from a Genius Bar. Hardly fair.

Oh, my bad! I misread and thought you had said 40km, as opposed to 400km. Sorry for being so unhelpful!

Solved!

Finally got around to calling Apple again, quoted my case number, the advisor checked the case details, reconfirmed them all with me, and I didn't even get around to asking for a replacement because the new advisor almost immediately told me they would send me a replacement as soon as they receive my faulty one using a mail slip they just gave me a link to. :D Kinda strange how the first guy told me they had no replacements... Anyway, happy ending ;)

My ip5 was defective and they are sending a new one out by fedex 2 day shipping. So they defintiely have units available for these problems.

All AppleCare is sending me a replacement and put 800 dollar hold on my cc, will this be a sealed box or refurb white box ? I ask because if I want to return in 30 days I need the original box etc...
