every product is always going to have people that like it and people that don't...

I personally (and many others) love the Mighty Mouse because its simple and sophisticated.
there are others that don't like the mouses response, reliability, ability to clean and ergonomics.

Id say give it a go, it'll match your equipment really well, if you don't like it you can always sell it to me ;)

How could it match my equipment? The iMac I plan to get it black and aluminum. I guess it would match the crappy portable phone on my desk, but that's about it, seeing as my desk is a dark brown (not that you would know that, of course).

Apple white goes very well with a dark wood desk.
But if your iMac is going black then what about your keyboard
Anyway I would make it match because I'm like that
But its all up to you then buy what you like :p

Good point. I too like things to match, I just think the MM is kind of ugly (and the bluetooth one looks kind of stupid; to me, anyway). I guess in the end it's all down to what I want and prefer.

From seeing/reading reviews (and the one time I held a MM for about 10 seconds), I'm starting to doubt whether or not to even get the wireless MM. My original plan was to spend 20 extra bucks when I get my iMac, see how I like it, then probably get the VX Revolution. However, if I'm getting the VX anyway, should I just save myself the $20 and put it towards the VX, or should I get the wireless MM, try it out, and if I don't like it I have some nice batteries to put in the VX? Not really sure what to do at the moment.

Hi jpmittins,

I work in a call center and I have evaluated and had some training on ergonomics. Generally your first instinct on comfort is the best and if you have any doubts on whether or not this would be comfortable mouse for you to use, you are probably right and should not spring for the wireless MM. If you live near an Apple Store or a Best Buy store the sells Macs, that would be a good place to use the mouse for a few minutes to really get a feel for it.

Personally I don't care for the MM and I think it is very uncomfortable for long term use. I did state this on another forum and the biggest issue I have with this mouse is the overall shape of the mouse. To me this mouse is to flat. It needs to have more of an arch. Lay your hand with your palm resting on your desk and notice the curve of your hand. If you look at the MM it doesn't have hardly any arch.

The MX Revolution does look like a nice mouse but it does have more buttons then what you are looking at. If the extra buttons doesn't bother you and you can preview the mouse, I say go for it. Most likely you can disable the extra buttons.

However, if you are wanting to spring for a bluetooth mouse to free up a USB port on your upcoming iMac purchase, that my friend may be a tough sell. Full sized bluetooth mice are hard to find it seems and the one I liked best didn't work well with my iMac (see my post and the others on the Microsoft Wireless Laser 8000 Bluetooth mouse problem).

Currently I just use a generic MS Comfort Optical Mouse 3000. It came with the MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 I purchased for my Lenovo desktop (BTW, I would love a pure Mac version of this keyboard). This mouse is actually comfortable and its silver/black color scheme matches the iMac very well.

Wow; I got a bit wordy but just my 2 cents on the subject. I hope I helped you out.

I loved the previous one-button apple mouse, and i definitely love the MM. I can't use any other mouse now. I don't have any idea about the wireless one though. If the bluetooth is always enabled does it affect the battery life if you have a laptop?

Having bluetooth always enabled would decrease the length of the battery's life, but you could easily turn bluetooth off from the menu-bar when you are not using the wireless mouse, or simply stick to the trackpad when using the computer's battery power.
