Everyone's computing needs are different. Although it'd be nice to have 16GB, I know I'd be perfectly fine with 8GB for just basic web surfing and video streaming/watching. I have no interest in playing video games or manipulating large photos or video files. I put the RAM money towards a 512GB SSD. I know I'm more likely to need the space in the future than the extra RAM.
