I hear you.
I tell many people not to JB when they tell me man I just want to get free games and not pay anything for apps.
Or when they ask how to JB and what do you do if its JB etc...
They have no clue and they're not willing to put the time, research and effort into in and a few weeks later they come to me like "dude my phone is messed up, its stuck at the Apple logo or it runs like crap and everything freezes and crashes. They go and install everything they see on cydia whether that's compatible with their device and ios version or not and just load it up with tons of hacks that are poorly coded or buggy.
Its not for everyone for sure. Like you said Apple has been slowly adding many aspects of the most popular JB tweaks so its not like it was back in the ios 3 or ios 4.0 days.

For sure.
I've always been more impressed with hardware hacks than software hacks anyway...
I remember in the iPhone 4 era seeing those custom backs where the light from the screen would also light up the Apple logo on back, so even if the phone was laying on its face, you could tell when you got a text or whatever! That's the kinda hacks I really dig... a one time effort & literally cannot effect the stability of your device.
