Nowhere in this thread did anyone mention 13 year old kids. You referred to a post that the OP had written, and you said you don't understand why these "kids" need a 1000 machine. It's pretty obvious what you were talking about. Your comments here are rude, and your comments in most of the other threads I've seen are factually incorrect. I know it's only your third day here, but you're really not making any friends so far.

Regardless of who buy, i believe it bold down to its still Macbook? right?

So make peace~~ and wait for the WWDC

got tired of lurking and wanted to contribute.

not my fault you guys took this thread to far. and if there facctually incorreect, then prove it.

@OP, buy whatever computer u want, as my very first post said, what was the point of this thread that you cannot wait a week to see what happens on the 11th???

Wait, I'm in the same situation, I sold my air a few weeks early based on these damn rumors lol.. and am currently using uni comps to get my work done (hell, u paid for them, may as well use them) :apple:

Wait it out. IVB is like a tick++ in Intel's Tick-Tock scheme. Graphics power is still relatively underpowered when compared to raw compute power, and IVB adds significantly to the GPU side of things. From what you describe, I suspect a MBA-class machine would suit you well. Unless Apple pulls off a thermal miracle, a MBA IVB refresh will give you significantly more graphics oomph. Both IVB and SNB should be able to handle Photoshop adequately, but if Adobe takes advantage of IVB's extra horsepower, the performance difference could be very tangible. In short: Unless you need a new computer in the next 6 days, wait for WWDC and then make a decision.

I'm personally waiting to upgrade from my white MB. Six days is six days. And yes, I know dealing with a slow or outdated computer can be frustrating (trust me... I know ) but wouldn't you rather just wait to see what MAY be released than buy now and regret it in ~72 hours?

And as for the comments regarding "kids" needing $1,000+ computers... If you were in college right now, you'd know why they're necessary. A $500 HP doesn't cut it anymore. :p

So I guess current MBA is not powerful enough for Photoshop?

The current MBA is more than enough for Photoshop unless you're working with multiple megapixel images in RAW all day. So unless you're going to graduate school for a MFA in photography, I doubt you'll be technically limited by a MBA.

But if you can wait the 6 days for WWDC, the odds are you'll be able to get more computer for the same amount of money either on June 11 or shortly thereafter. Everything ought to be a bit faster, which may or may not matter to you.

The other thing to consider is Apple's regular back-to-school promotions, which don't start for another month or so.

Wait. If you like the new ones, buy one of those. If the late 2011 suits your needs, buy one of those. You will save a ton on a new late 2011 or refurb machine. Either way you win.

wait it out- you won't regret waiting- the price difference for the new one will be well worth it in my opinon....
