When your ready to sell your mbp my question would be, how would you prove it was signed by him?

Will you be getting a certificate of authenticity? :D

I'd say if its for your own personal bragging rights then yes do it. If not then no.

But I guess if you want to really convince the eBayers then I would get the mbp signed with a picture of woz + him holding your signed mbp in the picture to prove that its the same mbp. But then I think he might look at you weird.. but then again maybe not?

Haven't got a clue who that is. But if he's famous, doubt it will hurt resale value. Use a sharpie :p.

Only autographed Apple product I know is a friend of mine who got her iPod signed by Zac Efron. That's worth $0.10 now :)

who can you not know him he is the co-founder of apple computer inc.

Do you plan on keeping the MBP until it dies? I would never get my computer autographed, but that's just me. Why not ask him to autograph a picture or something?

Please, put your geek on hold for 5 minutes and realize that the world isn't made up of computer nerds. I beg to differ than even half of Apple's Mac customers know who Steve Jobs is, I'll even beg to differ that many of the average Joe's that use Windows even know that Bill Gates is the founder of the platform, most likely they just heard that Bill Gates is a rich tycoon but that's about it.
Woz did not play a part in Apple's success today so he's not a big player. I wouldn't dare become some groupie and run to him for his autograph on my computer and not even Steve Jobs. I would like to meet Steve Jobs, but sign my computer??? Gimme a break. :p

I respect your opinion, But concerning S. Jobs, the dude owns Apple, Hes the most serious person ive seen ever, i haven't seen him crack a smile in a while, and the man overcame a liver transplant, give him a break, he played a major role in the success of apple, he somehow turned a failing line of products (bankruptcy) in an epic unstoppable profit powerhouse. Everything apple releases is like crack, every one jumps on it and those who cant jump on it want it anyway. Product placement plus product designs that are of epic proportions (its easier to remember movies which haven't featured Apple products) Apple will outlive Jobs many times over. I think that is an accomplishment that is worth an autograph.

I am just curious what you will have him sign with?

Surely anything that isn't baked into the aluminium would rub off over time?

Or are there Super special magic markers out there that are indestructible?

good question, ive used sharpie on the 1st gen iphone (alumi), and it rubs right off.... any idead?

Take the battery cover off and let him sign the inside of the battery cover.

Much better than having him sign a Modbook (Something not even endorsed by Apple.....)

Bottom Left corner of the Lid would look awesome.

I never said that YOU shouldn't get Woz's autograph, ha ha, I said that Woz wasn't a player in Apple's success today and I see you didn't even rebuttal that which is the person in question that you are wanting the autograph from.
Look, we are geeks here and yes most of us HERE know Steve Job's for his accomplishments but I fail to see why his liver transplant, his accomplishments and what he's done for Apple merits him signing my computer....UNLESS it was the first Macintosh ever made, I had no interest in ever selling it and it was being put inside a case in my entertainment room for viewing only. Other than that I would prefer to have Steve Job's or Woz sign a book written by them rather than my gadget. A book is much more worthy of a signature from these guys.
Any permanent markings on your computer may not be easily erasable and the person you sell your Mac to may not believe that Woz really signed it and it may actually degrade the selling price. Just my opinion. What do I know, I've only seen Steve many times at Macworld since I live in San Francisco, it was no big deal, I'm not starstruck.

excellent idea, ill download the ebook and have him sign my kindle!

Perfect Solution...

Get an Invisible Shield for it. Have him sign with black Sharpie. If you ever want to take it off it's no problem.

Sign the bottom?

I'd find something else for him to sign. Something he had a hand with. Like the Apple IIe that's on display at my school. Apparently my college is in the town that Ed Roberts (inventor of the Altair 8800) lives and practices. I wonder if I could bug him for an autograph. lol

Actually he does not own apple, He owns a part of it (a large part) but since they are a public company, there is not any one person who owns apple.

i am going to reiterate what i said previously. autographs are in the eye of the beholder. i personally could not care less about one from either guy. But you, obviously do. if you want it get it. just remember that there are going to be alot more people out there that do not want it on a computer they buy.

so even though it may add some value TO THE RIGHT PERSON, you have narrowed your market considerably by having it. which means it may take you alot longer to find a buyer because of it.

Have him sign then apply an IS.
I dont think this would work. I have never done the IS so correct me if i am wrong, but i have done the BSE and you have to use soapy water to apply it which i believe would cause the marker streak, smudge, and run and look awful.

DO IT. That would be awesome. have him sign it somewhere where it won't wear off easily. palm-rest or the lid. heck, i don't care where its signed, just take a digital pic of the autograph after so, if it does rub off, u still have a pic.

Couldn't you take a Magic Eraser to it if you wanted it gone? I'm not sure if it would mess up something, though. Them things do come in pretty handy sometimes. :D
