Black is smarter and looks more professional. Mine looks great with a black pixelskin HD. White looks great too but it seems a bit of a novelty

THIS IS WHY PEOPLE USUALLY ASK AS WHICH COLOR TO GET:

It's because they want to know if there are advantages/disadvantages to getting either color. They want to know from people who already own a certain color if it has affected the usability of the device in any way.

This is not the case for this thread but it is for many of them that are similar and the premise is totally valid.

For some people the white of the phone is distracting from content displayed on the screen. They also may not consider that when the phone is turned off, the screen is completely black, thus contrasting with the white and looks a bit weird to some people.

It's little things like that you may not know if you don't ask around.

Like what I said above. Ppl on here bitch too much. A bunch of babies. It's like they're forced to open and read a thread

Since I made this decision recently, I'll share my thought process.

The white looks really nice. It's pretty unique, and I immediately think "iPhone 4" or "iPhone 4s" when I see someone pull it out. However, it stands out quite a bit and seems a bit flashy. I honestly can't remember seeing a black iPhone 4 (or 4s), even though one of the guys I work with has one. It's more discreet.

Because I plan to use the phone mostly for business-related things and theft is a concern, my wife and I chose black. If I didn't mind drawing more attention to the phone, I would have chosen white.

Those are my preferences and thoughts. If you have a white theme going on for your wedding accessories then a white iPhone might also be nice, but a phone doesn't have the same permanence that a ring has (or a watch can have), so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Get a white one. For my first white iPhone this time around and I love it.

some of my stupid friends said

iphone is for girls in general and android is for guys...

soooo, you're holding a girl phone... the next time you are holding the phone in public, people gonna think you're a girl hahaha.

soooo, that's a very stupid analogy...for stupid people :)

White is for girls and ______ guys

I am planning on getting the 4s for christmas, waiting because my wife and I are poor college students. I ask because I have a white ceramic wedding ring and a white silicone watch. I really would prefer the white, but would it be too much white explosion?
Go with what you prefer. If you seriously can't decide then flip a coin. Or, as suggested in this thread, read the countless identical threads that already exist on the topic.

None of those were in the OP. Don't put words in his mouth. His question as started was purely aesthetic. Read the OP again:

The best reply, exactly what I was looking for. I am too short-sighted to think about the phone not permanent... White it is.

White ceramic wedding ring? WTF!?

Unique, but still classy. A lot less expensive than gold, everyone has tungsten, and anything else doesn't look nice enough. I get 2 or 3 compliments on it every day.

You need to go into a store and try both of them! I had a very difficult time deciding, but I eventually chose black because I found the white to be too bright and distracting, while the black allows me to focus on just the screen. Just my humble opinion! :D

I have a black 4 and my wife has a white 4 - I use screen covers on both sides of the phones and the black one tends to show fingerprints more - I could take the covers off and let the oleophobic coating do its job... but I like how pristine the glass is after 9 months of use - they do their job...

Since fingerprints are less obvious on the white phone, my new 4s I am getting tomorrow will be white.

My iPad2 is white as well - I like the look of the white finish - as long as it doesn't turn yellow down the road - it has a clinical/technical feel that I like.

I have owned both the white and black iPhone 4 and while I do like the white, I just think the black is a better looking phone overall. I've found that it looks better in cases as well. The white just doesn't look that attractive in a case.
