I've had great experiences with white box replacements. I think refurbs are basically like a brand new iPhone with extra quality control. I've had more trouble with brand new models out of box. Never had an issue with the white box replacements they gave me.

Just my opinion, an Apple refurbished iPhone in new condition is worth more than your now 4 month old used phone with a defect in the display.

I had a white box 5c refurbished that was mint. Wouldn't have been able to notice the difference if it was in an iconic 5c case/box!

I think you need to read the OP again. He is contacting Apple because of a screen defect. He isn't contacting Apple and seeking repair because of scratches on the back of the phone.
I think you owe the OP an apology.
