I'm hoping to save money in the long run...
It's been almost 2 years since we started the switch to Mac. This Alum MB is our 3rd laptop in that time and with it's purchase our household is completely "Macified". After researching the product and seeing the longevity others had gotten from previous models we felt this would save us money in the long run. So far, we've seen a huge difference in productivity... no more calling in Computer Geek companies to fix things we couldn't figure out, no more long late night calls to tech support in foreign countries that couldn't understand us, no more defragging, tweaking, virus scanning, etc. etc. We can just use our equipment and that has been an amazing change and adjustment. We've saved a fortune of time and time is money. The lack of frustration alone should lengthen our life spans! I'm hopeful that our laptops, iMac and other peripherals will live a reasonable length of time and if that's the case, we will be ahead. And if we get the kind of results that has been typical of Mac products, then we'll really rack up some savings.
So to answer the main question of this thread.... darn right, exchange it until it's perfect.
