Should I Return My Retina Macbook Pro?

Hey guys i've got til monday to return my retina macbook pro, it is running perfect the only flaws are there is a tiny scratch on the bottom and it creaks a bit when i hold it with one hand, is it worth returning?
If you were in the same position what would you do?

I have no idea what you expect from us. You're either satisfied or you are not. If you want the replacement go get it, if not don't.

Are you frickin' kidding? You would return a laptop over a "tiny scratch" in a place you would never look or see it and a creaking noise when you hold the laptop with one hand? Seriously? I don't know any laptop that doesn't creak somewhere - you should hear my partner's Dell. As far as your tiny scratch in the middle of nowhere, you will acquire even more scratches and in more obvious places the more you use your laptop. Get used to it.
 
Factors to consider:

1. How long you'll be without a replacement

2. Chance of the replacement having a worse creak or another flaw

I returned two units with the same problems as yours. I didn't want to regret not returning the damaged units when I had the privilege to. Now I couldn't be any happier because I upgraded from the base to 2.6/16GB and received a Samsung display. Maybe you can do the same.
 
If yours got a perfect screen, no IR, dead pixels, bleeding, etc, you should definitely keep it considering there are so many screen issues with rMBP.
 
If the screen is perfect then I think you would be foolish to return it with even the slightest chance of getting one with a real flaw.

I just don't see how a creak holding it in one hand can warrant a return.
 
I've gone through 6 rMBPs and out of all them I found some sort of blemish or scratch. It's just a matter of how much you are willing to accept it. I have a few stuff on this one but it was far more accepting then the previous ones. At least with these the "paint" is still on it where as the previous ones it was black where the scratch/dent was.

My current one also has the creaking sound but under normal usage it isn't noticeable, I only get the sound when the computer is off and I run my hand under the bottom. However once the computer heats under normal usage I can't reproduce the noise.
 
I don't think people who are saying that creaking noises are normal realize that there is a well known defect with some of the rMBPs with the bottom case being manufactured mis-aligned or with screw sets that can't torque down all the way creating an uneven case. When you put pressure on one side, either by picking it up - it doesn't have to be by one hand always - it makes a popping or creaking sound. It is not normal and Apple engineers have acknowledged the problem.
 
I have a problem with creaking/cracking noises coming from the palm rest under normal use, and one fan sounds like it has a bad bearing sometimes (Hitting the case seems to fix it sometimes). Also, I would randomly lose 3-4 finger gesture's randomly until I reset the PRAM (Before and after the update)

I was torn because I had a perfect Samsung screen, and my first had a bad LG (bad bleeding issues, yellow tint, and lower brightness). I'v got an advance replacement on the way, which I'll compare to my current one. I'm hoping I don't end up losing the screen lottery this time.

That's just a bit obsessive and I almost feel bad you simply cannot enjoy using something special like normal people

Now all of them had screen retention problems. I was able to live with the blemishes but not with the screen retention. But now I finally have a Samsung screen and have been unable to reproduce the problem like the previous LG screens.
 
if your unhappy return it

Base on my own experience. If your unhappy no matter how silly the reason & you're still in the time frame, return it.

I purchased my macbook pro 4 years ago & my Fiance put in a dvd and my brand new book CRASHED. took it in they sent it to "warehouse" and I received a refurbished one in return. After having paid $1800ish. I wasn't aware of the return policy. I assumed once bought yours to keep. Fastforward 2012: I have had so many issues since. Trackpad wouldn't track, ESC key doesn't work.....
lesson learned: unhappy, return :) hope this helps.:)
 
Return it. Not because of the scratch but because you obviously don't need it.

6. Really? It's people's story's like this that get me thinking there is soon to be allot of rMBP's in the refurb store soon.

Yeah again they all had LG screens and were all confirmed to have the ghosting issue. Had they not had the issue I wouldn't have had it exchanged that many times.
 
I have two dents on my the bottom cover of my new Retina MacBook Pro. No idea how I got them.

I know I don't give a hoot, so I'm keeping my computer. I will be just as oblivious to any more minor things like scratches and chips.

I think the creaking sounds are a sign that your Retina is haunted. A lot of Retina owners have reported seeing ghosts on their screens. Particularly if the screen is made by LG. Apparently LG had a tragic death in their factory that was not adequately resolved.
