windows xp, hands down.
XP is lightweight - wont eat so much RAM etc, wont take up so much HDD space.
Compatability - as we all know, vista has some issues sometimes...
More secure - In my PERSONAL opinion, XP is more secure as vista still has many flaws to be unveiled!
ANti virus - again, xp takes less resources and you WILL need an anti virus - rrunning one does take up a good bit of memory, so id go for XP cause it takes up less memory anyways :)
Gaming - now, i had to decide this - DX10 for better looking gaming, but vista takes mroe to run? Vs XP is more lightweight, but only DX9?

So id say XP if you havent gathered :p

... even though it's a beta? Is it that much better than Vista or XP? Maybe I should give it a try...

Works great. Runs like XP, looks as great if not better than Vista, And yes you should.

if you want ease of use and stability go for xp.
using windows 7 on mac currently requires a lot of tweaking for sound and other features.

Not at all. I popped in the leopard disk. installed it. First time almost everything worked. Second time everything except sound worked. So i read a forum and found a vista driver for sound. installed it.

Everything now works like a charm.
