iPad Should I still get an iPad 1?

But seriously, the iPad 1 is a complete waste of money at this point.

How come my friend's iPhone 4, still on 5.1.1, works perfectly, he can download apps musics, etc, and another friends 4S still on 5.1.0 and she can use it fine as well?

Expect to run into app incompatibility in App Store. I gave my granmother my old iPad 1 32GB, she's happy with it as all she does is web browse, emails, calendar and reads the news, so she barely uses any apps major apps, if you are the same then go ahead, if not then rather get yourself a iPad 2 32GB or iPad Mini Retina.

I have kept my iPad 1 and find it very useful for use with certain apps plus I don't really worry as much about taking it out and about.

So it can still be a useful tool but I don't think there would be any collectible value to it down the road.
