Because Flash on OS X sucks.

I disagree. Flash has nothing to do the operating system that you use. It depends of what browser you use. Maybe he's surfing the web on a very old version of Safari or the old Mac version of Internet Explorer.

this is true...

This is probably the funniest thread I have ever seen.

also my specs are 1ghz processor 1gb of ram and a 80gb hard drive.

What the hell do you expect? It's a 7 year old computer you bought for 150 bucks. If you wanted a fast computer, you could buy a new one

ALSO, lrn2grammar.

And I in turn, have to disagree with you. Even when I had my Intel Mac mini running fully updated with maxed out RAM, it still struggled on flash heavy sites. Adobe just hasn't tried very hard to make it better.

Actually, they have. Try flash 10 for major improvement.

Also the mac mini is a bad example of a video playing machine, since it is incredibly underpowered (even the new one is underpowered compared to a windows machine @ the same price)

So running Leopard on a 7 year old PB huh? Well, the main reason your friend's Windows based laptop runs faster, is because he runs XP. As much as people try to fight it, XP is a way way faster OS than Leopard. Why?

Leopard is an OS from late 2007, while XP is an OS developed and released in 2001. So obviously XP will run blazing fast on something with todays technology and will run fine with a 7 year old PC (thats if it doesn't crumble to viruses first).

Leopard on the other hand, is pumped with many features and a requires a bit more investing considering its released and expected to run on 2007+ technology and upgrade 3-6 year old Macs.

Want to get a better performance? Use Tiger or something earlier.

dude, even nanny uses a macbook white! throw the machine out, it's as old as a drunk irish.

Flash on OS X is definitely not as well written as it is for Windows. I have some older ibooks with g4's and they do struggle with a lot of flash apps that this really old much slower pentium III 600 mhz has no problem running.

i think you should throw it out the window just to watch it like shatter. there is something satisfying about that for some reason. it the same reason that causes "rubber necking" traffic. ppl like to see destruction as long as it doent involve them. look how popular those "owned" videos are. i took one of my cheap stand-up double basses and threw it off my balcony. it was fun to watch. i wish i had made a video of it.

People still pay alot of money for the TiBooks because they are still useful.

1) They are the LAST and FASTEST laptops that can natively run OS 9 (Some people are nostalgic).

2) They are still thin, portable, and have more then enough power for word processing and light browsing.

Gigabit Ethernet, DVI-Out, TV-Out, etc. I turned my old one into an emulator machine attached to my TV.

Frankly, its really sad that you are upset it can't do cutting-edge modern videos.
