I have a 6S on 10.3.3 should I upgrade to 11.2.1? I am concerned about performance/dropped frame rates and stuttering.

I think the performance on 11.2.1 is fine. However if you use iMessage a lot, I would recommend holding off. I've noticed since 11.2.1 iMessages are out of the correct order.

Here's a thread on Apple's forums which describes it:

Thank you!

I thought I was going mad, this exact thing has been happening to me for a week or so.

Most annoying, hope it’s fixed soon.

DON’T DO IT. Unless of course you like the idea of keeping your phone plugged into a wall outlet in order to use your phone.

Upgraded 6s plus Friday and I am now contemplating throwing in the waste bin.

Battery life has been cut in half.

Wonder if this is a tactic to cripple phones in order to force upgrades. Maybe the 6, 6s, 6s + were too good for Apple’s upgrade cycle.

I did a clean install and have equal if not better performance on my 6S using 11.2.1 as I did on 10.3.3. Battery was hit during first few updates but after clean install battery is back to 7-8 hour usage and everything works smoothly. Also, I don’t have the iMessage issue on my phone.. I do have the iMessage bug where if you start a message with an emoji only, the only way out is to force quit the app. Also my weather widget updates sporadically

FWIW My Vote - don't do it

10.3.3 - is awesome and works great - why make this change?
iOS11 - drops off many apps that you may have paid for and now the developers have dropped out due to Apple upgrade path / sandboxing / other apple restrictions - perhaps you like these apps?
iPhone 6S - does not work well on iOS11 for many compatibility issues

LOL, even on my iPhone 7 it's just too slow. Of course it will be 6 Times slower on the 6S and 10 TIMES slower on regular 6 with iOS 11.2.2 The remaining updates of iOS 11 like iOS 11.4.1 or 11.5 are just for fixing bugs, adding features, but not to increase the performance like iPhone 6S in iOS 9 that run so fast. But 6/6S on iOS 11 even with updates won't make it faster anymore, it will be slower from now. Then iOS 12 would be a lot worst.

Lots of assumptions presented in the form of givens.

My iPhone 6 is running 11.2.2, the battery is not great but everything else is fine.

Just waiting on my battery replacement from Apple.
