It's certainly more than microscopic with a different CPU architecture, and the Plus has more RAM, for example.
Ok, it has more RAM, but comparing to a 6S , I don't see a huge difference in perfomance. Same phone 6SS. The phones are the same. A10 is not so much faster than A9.

There's a pretty big range between microscopic and huge.

7+ would be an upgrade

This. If anything, OP, I made this upgrade, from a 6s, but to a 7 Plus instead.

I did my homework very carefully and found there actually wasn't enough at all to warrant moving to just the standard 7. A lot of the 7's new features (e.g. Wide Colour and Water Resistance), you actually really forget about them after a while, seriously you do. And having the same design doesn't help this either.

In contrast, I found one of the best features of the 7(Plus) is actually the stereo speakers - they're a HUGE upgrade over the cheap last-minute ones found in the 6s. If you listen to a lot of music/videos out loud, thats good.

However, the 7 Plus not only has its exclusive dual cameras (adding future proofing in that department), but I it also has the benefits of the Plus phone, that being, larger screen and vastly better battery life. To me, those two felt more important than the 7's other new features. As for the negative of larger size, I actually forgot it was bigger in a week or so. That would be a very justified upgrade.

Jet Black is really nice, its very reminiscent of the old 3GS Black iPhone if thats your thing. :) Just keep in mind its also exclusive to the higher storage tiers.

But really, please do have a look at the Plus. People aren't calling the 7 a "6s painted in black" for nothing.

If you buy the ip7, IMO you're falling into the 'trap' that Apple sets every year.

They want people to buy the next phone...even if it has incremental upgrades. Going from a 6s to a 7...that's exactly what they want to see.

People like you are their best customer.

At least skip a year and go for the 7s.

I am keeping my 6S. I don't have the "courage" to give up my headphone jack.

I'll be honest. I was hell bent on not giving up my jack for a 7. I've had my 7+ for close to 8m. I don't give it a thought now. I use Car Play on the road. I have 2 corded listening devices. 1 Pair of Buds. One Headphone. They each have the Dongle that never comes off. So, one dongle came with the 7 and I purchased one. :apple:

I have the iPhone 6S and it works fine.

I was wondering if the front facing and back camera upgrades were worth it?

Or if any other features would make it worth it?

I'm interested in a jet black iPhone 7 128GB.

In a word no. Because in my experience, and I tried a 7 twice, the camera wasn't as good as the 6S one, it's algorithms are poor and it's slow and for some reason I had to turn the contrast all the way up some shaded area shots to get anything! So I went back to the 6S.
I would personally wait for the 7S or 8.

I completely disagree. The cameras in both the 7 iPhones are incredible, and they are a huge step up from the 6s.

I upgraded from the ip6s to the 7+ and it's a huge upgrade, the most noticeable difference was the speed, camera, and size. I think you wouldn't see much of a difference if you kept the regular size 7 though.

Speed wise, the 7 Plus (A10 Processor) does seem significantly faster over the 6s Plus (2 GB of Ram). And the additional with the Ram, the 7 Plus (3 GB) also made a difference as well.

Looking to get a 6s+ for thee wife. She still has her 6+ for now. Doesn't want to give up her cases moving to the 7 Plus. Speed wise for her, she will be fine. The A9 chip and features on the 6s Plus will be enough of a difference for her use. Not too much of a difference on the A10 chip in my experience.

Remember though, the 4.7 iPhone 6s and 4.7 iPhone 7 have the same amount of Ram with 2GB. I'm using the 7 Plus which has 3 GB of Ram and to me, is where the speed is differentiated.

By my experience, the A10 Fusion definitely seems more responsive over the A9. I would say it's most noteable in running applications and multitasking throughout the iPhone. I think it will vary how you use your iPhone ultimately, but after owning the 7 Plus for almost a year, I definitely see the difference.

Especially with the 7 Plus having 3 GB of Ram over the 4.7 iPhone 7 only having to 2 GB of Ram. That alone will make a difference with the larger model. If you have the smaller iPhone 7, then perhaps the lower Ram can also make it seem similar to the iPhone 6s.

If your 6S is working fine - then why on earth would you go and buy another phone?? Wouldn't it be wiser to save or spend your money for some other functionality in your life?

@ OP

Not worth it especially at this point. 7 is a marginal upgrade from the 6s, especially from a user experience perspective.

As others have mentioned, wait for the 7s/"8"

Well in that case, that is agreeable. But I'm talking about the 6s+ and 7+, the difference is not that much.
