"I need a new Mac right now, should I wait for a rumoured model nobody knows whether it's even a thing?"

Erm, really? You ask us that?

I need a new MacBook Pro within the next month or two. Should I wait for the 2017 model?

Obviously I should wait until WWDC. LOL

I BOT the 13" 2016 MacBook Pro w/ touchpad, I7 chip upgrade, 1T SSD upgrade, maxed our everything else, and sorry to say its the WORST Mac I ever had!
IMHO, before you fork our almost $4k, pause a bit and either wait or buy an older model. Battery life is 2.5-3HRS, it heats to 116 degrees within 1.5-2Hrs, is slower than my 2010 MacBook Air. Not a pretty picture.

You should exchange it --- GeekBench and real world tests tell a different story (much, much faster than 2010 MBA). Also sounds like you overpaid as the most expensive BTO 13" MBP retails for $2,899 (almost $3k not $4k as you stated).

Took it in to Apple Store. They tested it with video I would watch like Directv, MLB, etc., and told me that my speed and usage was "normal" and that just about any video would drain the battery in my 2-3 hour period!
Asked that what my options were (including going to "supervisor/manager") and they said NONE. Ask asked for any idea for a "win", and got a flat "no"!
And btw, denying my $3200+ (December) receipt makes no sense to me(know that it includes APPLECARE.

Long time Apple customer, but I will NEVER buy Apple's best product again, and since my wife's old Surface Pro can handle watching a movie at night...
With new (less than an year) IMac & Mac Pro, plus IPads, 3-4 IPhones I'd pause buying anything new from Apple. Much prefer anything a year+ to make sure it works. Apple Store service (& all covered by AppleCare) lost a lot of loyalty with our family.
