The release cycle is for new generations of iphones each June. The verizon iphone will be, according to the WSJ & the NY Times, simply a CDMA version of the iphone 4. Apple releases iphone to new carriers off cycle all the time, and a verizon iphone 4 would be another off cycle release to a new carrier. Its really nothing new/exciting.

The June 2011 iphone is likely to be either a multi-band CDMA & GSM phone and or one that is LTE capable also.

I highly doubt Apple will make an LTE capable phone until at the very earliest the 2012 iteration.

True, but I think that nonsense that some post about AT&T is just that.
I dont think any company would keep adding millions of new subscribers each quarter if they couldnt make calls;)

Cool, my post had nothing to do with AT&T.

But goes to show how defensive you fanboys get over little things.

Your post didn't have to be about AT&T for him to use AT&T as an example.

But goes to show how defensive you haters get over little things.

The reason Apple didn't sell any white iPhones, imho, is because the Verizon iPhone will be white to distinguish it from the AT&T (black) iPhone: different colored phones for different phone service providers.

Just my two cents.

The point about AT&T is moot. If iPhone was available on Verizon, most people would go for it.

Just because after two posts you still didn't get the hint, I'm referring to the antenna issue. Oh yes, it very much exists. Touching the seam any time soon? Kiss your signal goodbye. And don't call me a hater if you can't back up your claims; I have an iPhone 4 myself and it does this. Only way I can make it not do this is by installing a Bumper which makes it look like ass.

But that was a cute move, copying my post and altering it a bit. Haven't seen that since 6th grade.

Back to the original question, OP, NO ONE here knows for certain whether there will be a Verizon iPhone in January February or any other month.
The speculation has been that IF there is going to be one offered, it would be announced sometime in January.
Since we're talking about a month, you can wait and see what happens. But remember, this sort of waiting game has been going on for some time. You can look through the threads on this site alone and see these same questions being asked every year. So far, it hasn't happened. Does that mean it won't happen? No. But personally, I've been very happy with my iPhone 4 and have no complaints with AT&T that I haven't also had with every other cell phone carrier I've ever dealt with.

Uhm....I think the backup would be the millions of iPhone 4 users on AT&T using their phone every day. You're right, the point is moot.

You really are clueless, aren't you.

Saying that millions of people are using iPhone 4 with AT&T isn't stating much given that it's the only network on which the iPhone 4 is available. If it was available on Verizon, it would be an entirely different story.

I'm amazed that I have to explain this multiple times. Maybe this foolproofness of Apple's products have made your brain go rusty.

Actually, the clueless one seems to be you. The antenna issue, while real, it not as bad as you describe. So stop arguing and drop it because you have nothing to back your argument. Meanwhile, Apple continues to sell tons of iPhone 4's because the issue simply doesn't cause enough problems for most users.

And I don't know how millions of iPhone 4 users using the phone daily isn't saying much. Either way, the antenna issue is independant of the carrier. Oh, and perhaps your brain is rusty as you seem to have forgotten that the iPhone 4 is on many networks around the world...not just one. AT&T was only given as a single example.

Your perspective is very twisted.

And how does the iPhone being on or off Verizon have anything to do with it's usability? (based on your original quote)

Wait for the iPhone 5 if you care about making calls.

Ha, again with saying my original post had anything to do with network selection. Braindead. Morgue.

Take a finger and touch the seam. LCD screen reports bars going down slowly but surely. This is a huge problem. I don't care how you hold your phone but if holding one side of a phone causes a complete signal blackout then maybe there's a big problem with the phone. This specifically has nothing to do with AT&T. AT&T manages to be garbage all by itself, so let's not bring it down further by saying it's its fault.

Making an external antenna. Genius. Making it so that holding it makes signals go away. Okay, can't defy physics. Making it an external part of the phone that dominates where the user holds it. Stupid. Bad mistake. And yet millions of people are buying it. But those millions also buy cases to bypass this issue. Apple itself gave out cases for free for months. Surely it's more major than the apologetic kissasses would like to admit. In practical use, you may get used to holding the phone differently so it won't block your calls. But what about "I don't have to change myself for the phone, the phone just fits me?" That entirely goes against "you're holding it wrong." People are sick and tired of hearing about antenna issue this and drop call that in the media. By regular human nature they start assuming that the whole thing is overblown and inaccurate. Too bad that for once the media is right and that Apple messed up. But that doesn't stop people like you from defending Apple to hell and back even when they're completely wrong. The power of brand loyalty, or what outside of it they call the reality distortion field. I'm sure you heard of it before. Thing is, you don't realize its existence until you get out of it. I got out. You should. Then you'll see just how sad you were.

In short, you are either purposefully misunderstanding me and twisting my words against me or you're just that braindead. Either way, I couldn't care less and we're all happy in the end thinking the other idiot lost.

The braindead one is you. This subject has been beaten to death in this forum. Yes, it exists. I've argued time and time again to make people aknowledge it.

No, it's not major. I carry my phone with no case. I can make it happen, but it doesn't cause me serious issues unless I'm in an area of extremely weak reception.

Speaking of braindead, I guess I have to remind you of your previous post.

If it was available on Verizon, it would be an entirely different story.

I give up on you, you're a hopeless complainer. You're exagerrating the issue as many others before you have. No need to continue trying to beat it into your head that the phone actually works despite this flaw. I'm not saying it's not a problem....it's just not the end of the world...or the end of this phone actually working as your OP implied.

Typical "lol i give up cause your argument is good" reply. Surprised? Negative. Then again maybe he'll reply to this post to save some face.

Haven't seen a decent argument from you yet.

You stated:
Wait for the iPhone 5 if you care about making calls.

Which implies you can't reliably make calls from the iPhone 4 which is completely untrue.

Anyway, I also know bickering leads to being kicked from the forum. So I'm done. Welcome to ignore.

Thanks for the opinions. I decided to take advantage of the 30 day policy with att, and see how the coverage is in my area. If push comes to shove I know iphones have a high resale price. So I'll end up doing that if I do return it after my 30 days. Biyee.
