Steve Jobs is Ceo of Pixar. Pixar is a brand tied to Disney. Disney is....

See where I'm going with this?

Not a chance.

And if you know anything about the leadership team at Apple, there is no way they would ever do this. Never ever.

lol can you imagine steve jobs getting up at macworld and saying we have one more thing........ iporn on itunes, now we looked at the industry and realized that everyone is doing it wrong we think we've hit the spot exactly! Now lets go and see a demo.. This will revolutionize the porn industry........
nope cant picture it sorry.....horrible idea.

There is currently a short film on iTunes that basically revolves around a boy working in a grocery store that stops time with his imagination, and imagines all the women in the store with no clothes on as he walks around examining them. He also flashesback to his first exposure to female nudity, a scene which depicts a woman completely nude from the neck down, walking slowly past him as a child.

It contains a surprising degree of nudity, and has been roundly criticized on iTunes as being soft porn. I do not believe that by-and-large iTunes users wish to see "porn" of any form on the service. There is a slippery slide to censorship however, as it relates to artistic expression. In other news... best $1.99 I've ever spent! Mwahahahahaha... :D

with a whole plethora of content on itunes how do you expect me to find this gem without a name?
Just kiddin:D

You must be joking if you don't think this would be a PR nightmare.

No I don't think so, its just not necessary. But I would like to see Apple sell all Music Videos, TV shows, and Movies with a Explicit option (Or in the case of certain movies an Unrated version) like they do with music. Its a sad day when I buy a Nine Inch Nails music video about censorship only to find its the censored version of the video. (I ended up finding the uncensored one for free on the NIN site).

well on such a little screen porn would lose a lot of it's magic :p but with the new 3.5" screen...touch as well... hmmm interactive...porn? *runs to the patent office*

but seriously, I have zero problem with it. If people wanna pay to have porn on their iPod, all the power to them. Kids might hack around it? uh huh... or they can just get it for free on the billion porno websites and load it on their iPod (which I know several who have). But it ain't never gunna happen since up tight stiffs will whine and bitch about the children or how its digusting or whatever...

You won't see adult videos sold through iTunes but many adult web sites with downloadable videos will begin to offer them in 320x240 MP4 format in addition to Windows Media Video format.

The reason is simple: the arrival of the 3G nano will exponentially grow the number of iPods that can play back videos, which makes it worthwhile to encode downloadable videos in the iPod compatible 320x240 MP4 format.

I honestly do not think Apple would ever do that.

Here in Canada, Telus Mobility offered porn downloads on their mobile phones for a while.

Many customers were outraged and threatened to leave Telus; Telus less than a month later pulled the downloads haha

Steve Jobs is not CEO of Pixar, Pixar was sold to Disney. Have you been under a rock?

My point is simple. there is definately enough of a connection to Disney that makes selling porn on itunes 300% impossible. Seperate the forest from the trees.

You know... I was afraid to go looking for it, considering the complaints.
But, here was my blog post about it (with a somewhat full review).
When I click the iTunes link, it says that the product is not available in the U.S.

I think Apple nixed it. Ouch. My blog has screen shots.
It's funny, reading over what I said at the time, it was really really highly purchased. LOL.

Has anyone ever read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley? I'm fairly certain we know why iTunes don't sell no pron.

Hey, it would make for one hilarious keynote. "Last year, we revolutionized the world with the iPhone and the iPod Touch. This year, we're introducing the iPod Feelie!"

So the question is, literally, should Apple whore themselves out for profit. And I say, no.
Considering Jobs was pushing hard for Disney to stop doing its Direct-to-Video sequel animations, undermining the image of its movie properties, I think its clear that brand image is very important to them. iPorn will NEVER happen. The cost to the company image would be much, much to great.

I could imagine Jobs' keynote:
"Alright, so here's a clip of our first adult film on iTunes."
[ Plays movie on the big screen ]
"Alright, wasn't that something? Let's see that again!"
"Simply amazing."

They might be able to pull it off in a country that isn't the USA or Canada (probably one or two others as well)
