To each his own, but I've owned a Pebble, and there is no way I would trade my  Watch to go back to Pebble unless I couldn't afford the  watch. There just isn't any comparing the two. The Pebble is great if that's all someone can afford, but in this case, Apple's product is vastly superior.
I've never owned or used a Pebble, but I hear that an accurate comparison between it and the Apple Watch would be comparing a Kindle to an iPad. Is this correct, in your estimation?

I actually really liked my Kindles.

They are just very different. The pebble is really only good for delivering notifications. You cannot interact with them at all on IOS. I get a notification on the pebble and then decide if it is important enough to interact with by pulling my phone out. With the apple watch you find yourself interacting with everything.....b.c you can.

for example: An email comes through....on the pebble I just look at the notification and if it is not important I ignore it until later. With the apple watch, I scroll to the buttom of the notification and delete it right then and there. That sounds ideal, but I found myself doing that all day or even worse in the middle of conversations.

Don't get my wrong I love the apple watch and the pebble. I actually have stepped away from both the last few days and I kind of like it. We always hear how "connected" we are to our phones and for me smartwatches just amplified that feeling. I have been using a smartwatch going on 3 years, and this is the first time I have stepped away if you will and I like it :)

Really digging this a lot. I want a more "classy" band for when I'm at work other than the white sport band I current have. I'm seriously going to have go with this. Thanks for posting a pic.

It is such an awesome band, just really expensive compared to the cost of the watch.

I owned the first version of the Pebble Watch, and it was okay. I bought it because I liked the idea of a "smart" watch, and that was the one that would work with my iPhone. As others have said, it is good for notifications. You can also reject calls, but it seems odd that you hit accept to take a call but then have to take out your phone to actually take the call. It does have it's advantages, mainly in its price point and insane battery life (7 days regularly), but that's about it.

I guess my biggest beef with the Pebble was that it was an ugly watch (at least to me). It looked and felt cheap. Because anyone and their grandmother could make watch faces for it, a lot looked tacky or cluttered. The tech just felt outdated (no touchscreen, no color at least on the original), and it just didn't jive with the way my phone looked. The Apple Watch, while much more expensive, just looks so much better and does a lot more stuff (maps, evernote, answering texts, taking short calls, Siri, etc.). I have nothing against Pebble. It would just not be the watch I would want to wear every day when the Apple Watch is available and at a price that is affordable for me (not cheap or easily affordable, but affordable). If I was going to get my lights cut off for buying a watch, or anything for that matter, I wouldn't buy it.

I like the comparison with one exception. I wouldn't mind being caught in public using a Kindle, but I would not want to be seen in public wearing a Pebble. But that is just me...

The Kindle fire isn't bad. My mom has one, and it works pretty well. I was never embarrassed by my Pebble, and in fact most people thought it was cool (before the  Watch came out and the Samsung watches had just come out). I did stop wearing it though. It would constantly need to be repaired, which was a pain. And again, for me, it was just an ugly watch. Practical, yes. Pleasing to the eye, not on your life.

Agreed it comes unpaired a lot. Funny how about the apple watch announcement people starting noticing my pebble thinking it was the apple watch. It looks like a child toy in comparison.

is that *the* link bracelet or a 3rd party?
It is the Apple Link Bracelet. I really love the appearance of it with the Sport and also think it's a great balance between the heavier weight of the band combined with the lighter Watch. Other than a couple times wearing a sport band at the gym, I haven't used another band for a month.

I have the white sport band as well and also have a bright blue leather loop which I never wear since getting the Link Bracelet. I don't think you'll regret the purchase.

Anyone got the Mayo Loop band from lnkoo999? Does the magnetic end come through the loop? Hoping it doesn't, like the OEM one.
I have it for the 38MM and unfortunately mine does come through. The bright side is that the magnet is so strong if it came lose i feel that it would snap on to the band again. I play with the magnet all of the time and it doesn't feel weaker or anything. I love it regardless and I'm definitely saying up for the OEM version.

ahhh its beautiful. i never even bothered to try it on because it's out of my price range and i'm scared i'll want it too badly.
