44mm Hermes. Love how the watch face takes up the whole screen now. The packaging was pretty sweet too as it came in the orange Hermes box and both the watch and the band were wrapped in felt.

Apple is still including the Orange sport band too. I was wondering if they would take it away but it’s still there.
Awesome! Is that the Indigo single tour? That’s the model I ordered, getting it today! Great photos-

Inspired by an earlier poster and rumours that it is to be discontinued I decided to pick this band up again:

I have had it previously but when I gave my S0 SSSB Watch to my dad I gave him the original SB Link with it.

I’d forgotten how light and comfortable the band was to wear!

So what are the key differences between the SS and Aluminium other than the price?

  • Sapphire Screen
  • Stainless Steel Body

That's what the $200 premium accounts for. For me - I kept my first watch 3.5 years, I'll keep this one at least 3. It's worth the premium just because 3.5 years later I had not a single mark on my watch screen.

I got my watch on Saturday. Gold aluminum 40mm. I'm a little disappointed because it is really rose gold. A big difference between it and my 1st gen. Gold is better than silver for me but if I had known it was not gold gold, I wouldn't gotten black, I think.

I have a navy sport band on today. I'm posting pic of my old watch too just so you can see the difference.

It's more 'bronze' gold, than 'rose' gold. The 'rose' gold was even more pink, but I take your point completely.

I thought the old (yellow) gold aluminium watches were awesome. They came out 2 months after I bought my series 0, and I confess I was ever so disappointed to have missed out. That was exactly what I was looking for in a watch.

You are still within your Apple return window, so you could return it if you wished.

It makes all the difference to me. Makes the AW feel like a legitimate quality watch and not just a sports watch. Pretty important to me as I wear suits for the office daily.

Here is my two watches, (Left) Casio GWG-1000-1A 59.5mm & (Right) Apple Watch Space Gray Aluminum 44mm.

Am i crazy to see that 44mm is too small for me? I wish it was big as Casio watch o_O again I wonder if the AW was made in Japan, I'm sure it will be build like a tank as Casio :D

Another 44mm space black aluminum. I switched from silver in my last and am pleasantly surprised that the SB looks good with my (many) silver clasp bands

That is a nice combo. I am getting the same gold ss also. Would you know if the gold ss are prone to scuff/scratches like the silver ss one? I have the space black now and it is virtually scuff free even with all the accidental hits I do to it.

The gold SS has a protective coating on it. It's a different one than the space black IIRC but it does have a coating.

Oh ok thanks! Any idea on how durable this coating is? I just hate having spend that much money on this and have it scratched up within a few days (I wear it working out/lifting). I've had the silver ss and a space black, and the silver ss got scuffed up so bad compared to the space black. I just dont want the same thing happen to the gold ss I'm getting.

PVD is inherently less resistant to scuffs than DLC, however, a lot of it depends on the manufacturer and application process. im sure apple researched the durability of the gold SS and it should fare well. people who are rough with their timepieces should perhaps consider the space black or silver SS.

I thought about taking it back and swapping for SS, but I think the SS is the same color.

I actually bought the first one and then when the gold aluminum came out, I sold the first one and bought the gold. I'm afraid they'll do the same thing again but the price tag is so much more, I'll probably just suck it up and keep it. All my jewelry is gold so I was hoping for a gold closer to real gold color.

So an aluminum Apple watch wouldn't be "classy" enough to wear with a suit?
