So I really like my SS model (S5) but I want to upgrade, I usually do every year.
The titanium looks nice but I sort of just want to get another 44 SS. Does anyone feel bad “not changing it up” and going with a different color?
I have an SS S5 and later I also bought an SBSS S5 - my plan was to help decide which case Hermes S6 I would buy, but that isn't relevant.
I realise SBSS isn't an option (unless you go Hermes), but when I got my SBSS I thought it was great; it made my bands look different and I loved the way the black glass blends into the black case.
After the novelty wore off and I wore my SS again it was like a new Watch. "Wow that silver rim makes it look bigger, and more like a regular watch" etc.
Several months in basically I wear SBSS at weekends or work from home days, and when I go to the office or want to look smarter than a T-shirt and jeans I wear the SS. It's 100% clear to me that an S6 Hermes would have to be SS.
Of course Ti isn't like SBSS and the difference is going to be less obvious (unless you go SBTi), and it's true to say that living in a country where we don't get Edition Watches (since the S3 with it's then unsupported LTE) I haven't seen a Ti Watch. I am however familiar with Titanium - it's what my wedding ring is made of among other things. The slightly hint of gold and brushed finish will look different with your bands, but probably close enough even leathers with silver lugs will look OK.
My advice would still be that SS is the one Watch to have, but it is fun to experiment with something different, so why not try Ti for the S6? You might love it and stick with it, or you might be 100% certain when the S7 comes out that SS is right for you.
