Excellent question! AFAIR Apple only put the stretching caveat in the description of the Braided Solos.

Good to know!
I really want to try on a +1 rubber solo loop to see just how much the sticky surface prevents sliding versus my +1 braided loops that are so perfect for sleep and letting the wrist get some air. I was def too busy with the Hermes drawer of goodies when I had to go in for a repair.

Wow it’s unfortunate to hear all these things for such an expensive band. Fitment isn’t great in the lug and stretch issues. That’s too bad, and confirms my gripe even more. It’s been hard for me to get into these as I think they’re honestly overpriced for what they are.
Yeah they definitely are overpriced for some yarn. I held out all last year but couldn’t say no to Dark Cherry this year. The sport band version is too close to the Plum band I already have and I’m not a fan of the leather links in general. So, I held my nose and paid the Apple tax for one. Very comfortable style but not worth the price in general (and yet, Apple still got me…).

I buy my braided loops one size smaller than my silicone loops on purpose. I like that I now have a few stretched ones and a few still tight ones. I wear the stretched ones on hot days and really still enjoy them a lot. Even if I wear them on cooler days they are not loose to a point that would annoy me. Of course on hot days the normal nylon sport loops are just as good and are only half the price. I try not to buy too many of the braided solos but in general I really like them for their comfort.

A while ago I bought a used Braided Solo on ebay which was my regular size but turned out to be stretched out quite a bit. You can absolutely machine wash these bands and they will shrink back to some degree, but not quite to the original size; this may depend of the amount of stretching done, of course.

All my other Braided Solos (that I bought new) fit just as tight as on the first day, mainly because I rotate between many different bands, but also because it is quite easy to put the Solo bands on without really stretching them. Insert one side, gently clamp the Watch between your wrist and e.g. your upper thigh, insert the other side. For taking the band off, just flip the Watch on the wrist (so the display is down) and push the release button.
Thanks for both of these posts. I tried a size down and it is right on the border of being too tight for comfort. Now I guess I’ll have to decide if I want to wait and see how much it stretches or just use @the future’s method on the one that is the correct size now.

Edit: OTOH, there have been (very rare) posts about silicone Solos snapping, presumably from (over-) stretching.
That Reddit post from a few weeks ago, aside from just being on Reddit and therefore auto-sus, clearly showed a watch that had smashed into the ground or some hard surface and cracked and it’s hard to believe the solo loop didn’t also get damaged at the same time, especially if OP was dailying it.

I can’t honestly say the thinness of these bands doesn’t give me pause sometimes, but less is more, of course, and I love the light feel and lack of silver pin and color/touch uniformity.

As for the braided, they also don’t all come out of the box the same size, not that I don’t agree they stretch way too easily for the price, nor am I excusing the size discrepancy.

At the end of the day they are delivering you basically a $49 “sports/comfort” band + a $99 “dress” band all for $149 $99, at least that’s how the OG iPhone launch and the logic behind HomePod 1 and AirPods Max would suggest they think.

Anyone rocking a clover solo loop with a series 6 blue watch?

Really like the color of the band, don’t think it would match the watch though. 🤦‍♂️

Starting to regret getting the blue watch, looks beautiful, only problem with it, not many bands go with it. 🤦‍♂️

Honestly I absolutely don't think the snapping is a problem because if it happens in normal use at all, it must be really, really rare. You know I'm all-in on the Solos in both materials as (for me) the level of comfort is above and beyond all other bands. And I like the minimalistic look a lot.

I felt the same way, that was why I sold my blue and got the S6. It seems crazy, I know. I love the blue, but I like to have a variety of band colors so I switched. Loving the SG.

Not crazy at all, I’ll most likely skip the series 7, then it’s back to silver or black for the series 8. 😊

impressive watch bands collection by the way. 👌😂

It’s hard to forget that YouTuber doing that extreme stress test with the gym weights.

When the Solos first came out I tried different sizes at an Apple store. FWIW The +1 size definitely did slide on my arm.

Good idea though. I‘ll try my still-a-little-stretched-out charcoal Braided as a sleep band for fall/winter.

I had forgotten … until just now 😂

As my first Apple watch purchase, I choose the series 7 Blue & now you're making me worry. :D

Blue is a beautiful colour, it's a even nicer shade of blue this year, only negative I have with it, if you like buying a lot of bands, you'll find it hard to match bands with a blue coloured watch.

Also has its advantages, you'll save a lot of money on bands. 😂

I got braided solo loop 2 sizes down from the measuring tool (7 -> 5). Even that gets too loose after every 1-2 months so I hand wash it, and after it dries it shrinks down to good snug size again for another month or two. Overall, great, comfortable, good-looking band.

Don’t worry 😉 this particular batch of bands has great bands that go extremely well with the Blue watch. Those dark shades you ordered are 🔥 also the sequoia green is surely a looker

I’m mystified by people ordering up to TWO sizes down. Maybe that’s why it’s stretching so much? I ordered exactly what tha Apple measuring tool told me (size 6) and I’m super happy with it. It really hasn’t stretched but a ver minimal amount and I’ve only washed it to keep it clean. But I did noticed it shrunk back after drying
