Could be because I've not seen one in real life. The edges look very light. I think I like this colour.

Yea it’s like a dark gray stainless steel not black and not silver. It’s in between and can have characteristics of both for sure depending on lighting.

I’ve been confused on some pics myself. I think it’s due to the way the reflective finish appears in photos. It’s gorgeous but tricky to capture at some angles.

That is true some photos make it resemble almost like SBSS in darker settings and lighter settings definitely have more of a silver characteristic but you can still see that it’s not actual silver as the silver is like a pure mirror finish in bright light.

Have you had a graphite before? I just ordered one for instore pick up and am worried about not being able to polish out any scratches.
Has anyone had any issues with scratches on the body of the watch? I don't plan on using a Milanese loop only the leather links and braided solo loops.

Never had graphite, I’ve had both Silver SS and Space Black SS. Graphite is on the way for me. Only one you can polish is the Silver SS. If you don’t plan on using the wicked Milanese lol (I learned my lesson a while back with a SBSS Series 4 paired with a SBSS Milanese loop) and if you don’t bang it up, I don’t see why you should have a concern for scratches. It has the DLC coating as well which makes it a robust finish.

This is why I love graphite. Looks so good in so many conditions but manages to always keep that stainless steel look

My S6 was graphite and after 1 year of daily use it looked as brand new. Not a single mark. Incredible. And maintained its shine perfectly.

Now I’m with natural Ti S7 cause really wanted a change in color and material and I’m in love with Ti also :)

My bad for not reading all 707 pages but is anyone rocking the red on red braided loop combo? Haven’t received mine yet — hoping I like it! I go with aluminum always because I upgrade every two years and so it feels like disposable tech. My series 5 has the battery life of a small furry animal — 82% - so I am definitely needing to upgrade!
Yup. I posted twice, once when I picked it up in the Apple store, then in the evening at home, when I set it up. With the red braided loop. If you look in the mile-long thread about the tracking and updates of the S7s travels, you'll find my posts there. Or under my profile.
Speaking of aluminum, no idea why it is mentioned as lower level or entry level and so on, when it's an expensive piece of technology. I'd say other smart watches from other manufacturers/brands can be considered that way. Think of how certain companies offer BOGO in their smart watches, or the watch is free with the phone, etc.
I am a color-loving person and it'd be very difficult to me to wear everyday a watch that's plain silver or black, brushed or matte (not a fan of shiny things, watches included), so I choose aluminum series in Apple watches for their pretty colors. This year I chose the RED. I have so many red accents even when my outfit is in other color. The main red color accents are my frames  so now the watch will complement them. I am in love with the red S7! 😍 🥰

It's the same AW technology just with different materials and branding. This is why I have such a hard time going Hermes. I think I can just buy some Hermes bracelets to stack with my watch.

I thought this year's aluminum green is especially attractive. It's fun and different.

If the Red weren’t so deep and rich and gorgeous, I would’ve chosen the green one, and then the blue. All stunning colors.

Damn.. Waiting for the Space Black Titanium (taking forever), but these pictures makes me want to jump on the Natural instead!

If I would get Titanium I’d go Natural Ti. Having owned SBTi, it just didn’t excite me and I ended up selling it to switch back to SBSS. I’m not saying it’s not a great finish and we all have preferences of course! I’ve tried on the Natural Ti and it is definitely a very nice finish. I’m just more of a darker watch guy so went with Graphite but Natural Ti would be my second choice for sure!

I did an impulse buy a few weeks ago and bought $450 worth of braided solo loops in the new colors. 😅🙈 Bought the English Lavender, Maize, Abyss Blue, and Dark Cherry braided solo loops. I got nervous that these colors would be out of stock as soon as Apple released the new braided loop colors this fall, and thought these colors would be a bit hard to get so I purchased 4 of them as early as I can. I've been loving the braided solo loops a lot lately since they are super comfortable and not bothersome/distracting as the silicone bands with the clips when I work on the computer.

Currently sporting the Dark Cherry braided solo loop with my AW S6 in the 44mm at work 😊

Going to return the Sequoia Green leather link and bought the Abyss Blue Sport Band. Probably will get the Abyss Braided Solo Loop too! I love how it changes the color in different light.

Nice colour but that does look too tight on the second image.
