I was cautious after some of the Apple stock images made the Midnight look blue-ish, but it definitely doesn't. At least not in the vast majority of light situations. In very, very bright white light you can see some blue, but otherwise it appears black, maybe with a hint of super dark purple. So "midnight" does seem like a good name. It's black 99% of the time, but sometimes very deep blue/purple hints come through. The matching sport band however is pretty grayish blue and I think the stock images get that color right. If there is something I'm less happy with it might be that strap, but its comfortable for working out and even sleeping (which I didn't expect). I may just want a leather or stainless steel band to mix it up eventually.

Anyway, I'm a new Apple Watch user and have been really happy with this thing over the last couple days. The workout tracking features and live heart rate monitoring were as expected, but how much I put them to use in just 2 days of workouts surprised me. I used to do heart rate training stuff back in the day (when you needed a chest strap), I guess I forgot what that was like.

Also the charging time is insane. I've noticed some people complain about how it slows down in getting to 100%, but so what? I put it down for like 5 minutes and it seems to go from <20% to 60-70%. That effectively means its wearable for 99.9% of your day. And if you want it at 100%, just take it off while you sleep. Sleep tracking is fun, but do you really need it every night? And if so, just charge the thing for like 10 minutes while you brush your teeth/take a shower....

You must not have any sleep issues. For those of us with sleep problems, yeah, you really need it every night. It’s hard to identify patterns and problems if you can’t get consistency in your data. And it’s not uncommon to hit that data against other factors, such as what you’ve eaten or your stress levels to identify problems that can help resolve sleep issues.

Ordered a Series 7 from Amazon on Monday. It said it was out of stock, so not to expect delivery until 13th November.

Fast forward to today, a mere three days later, and look what would show up!

Mine is a 45mm Starlight Aluminium watch, with an Olive Grey/Cargo Khaki Nike watch band. I’m thinking of getting a blue solo loop as well when I get paid.

So far, I’ve definitely noticed the greater screen size over the 44m Series 6. I wasn’t expecting to notice it based on some of the reviews I’d watched, but from the moment I got it out of the box and turned it on, I could see it. I also love the ’wrap around’ effect, and the fact you can see the screen even when you‘re looking at it from the side.

My favourite feature so far is definitely the keyboard - I can see me using this to text a lot more now. Scribble was too convoluted and I didn’t like dictation (it didn’t play well with my harsh Yorkshire accent).

I guess I could have phrased that differently to not be dismissive. But I did mention right after that, that if you do need sleep tracking, you can just charge it for a few minutes and easily make it overnight. I went overnight and now to noon my time going from 70% -> 45% battery. It only takes ~10 minutes to charge that back.

I have been wearing stainless steel Apple Watches without screen protectors for over 6 years now and never had a scratch on any of the screens. Just put on and enjoy the premium look and feel.Stainless series 0, series 3 SS and SS black, ceramic and series 5 ceramic all being worn by be and other people, all look great

Titanium Black owners can you please post a picture of the backside. Please cover your serial number. Thanks in advance

I wear it to bed so I can use the silent alarm (whereby it vibrates on your wrist instead of an audible one) so I don't wake up my wife!!

I think that feature alone is worth wearing it to bed - so why not get it to track your sleep at the same time.

😉

I'm not digging the graphite with the silver stainless steel link ... I think I'm going to return it, and stick with my series 6 for another year. Also, I had the 16th post in this thread, and now the 17,744th. That's kinda cool! 🎉

Now worth the upgrade in your opinion? Thinking about keeping my aluminum 6 for another year and splurging next year with the s8 SS

I've had sleep problems for years. When I use sleep tracking, I realize my problem is actually worse, so I wear mine every night, it pushes me to go to bed at a certain time. Then I use the Calm app for bedtime stories. It's a ritual.

Well. My original hope was to get a silver stainless so I can rock my old Milanese loop and classic buckle. Didn’t have launch stock so I went with Graphite w/ Milanese, I hated wearing the graphite Milanese out of fear of scratches so I grabbed a silver in stock (been checking stock daily) I’ll miss the graphite but having used dark watches the past 2 years it’s nice to have that extra shine!
