Wait what? Was the body scratched or the screen? Did you have AppleCare+?

Because usually this sort of thing is „normal wear“ and no reason for a replacement.
Body was scratched up, screen was fine. I'm jokingly saying i replaced it only because of the wear, but that's not true. I bought the watch on eBay for like $200 and it was giving me some problems with battery, so I go to my Apple Store and they run their diagnostic, and turns out it's got an ambient light sensor going haywire causing the screen to remain at 100% brightness all day. They replaced it.

Yes, it had AppleCare+. That expired today.

Yes, they’re obviously better than cheap knockoffs, but my point was with $100 it would probably be more worth it to get the more ‘premium’ bands such as the leather ones or the milanese. Just my two cents in
eBay will get you an OEM braided for like $50, I'd say they're definitely worth buying secondhand if not brand new. I wouldn't buy one brand new unless I just couldn't find a deal in my size.

Wait until you feel the real ones

Haha, yeah I have never seen the real ones up close, we go on holiday tomorrow to Florida so ill be heading towards an Apple Store, so I’m afraid ill see it and want one if they are that much better!

This one does feel great though, and it only cost me £6 ($8-9)

As far as I‘m concerned, they definitely are. None of the fakes I‘ve seen so far are even close to the quality of the genuine ones.
Plus, see the post above (sorry), some look kinda awkward because they are too narrow and don’t fit the size of the watch case IMHO.

The Apple ones stretch a bit, yes, but in my case not so much that I would see that as a problem. And from time to time I put them in the washing machine and they‘re as good as new.

Yes I didn’t realise how thin this one is actually when you look side by side with the official,

I still love it, but yes the official one looks better being a bit wider

But yes, it only cost me £6 so for the price, its superb

agreed braided loops for me are easily the most comfortable bands you can wear.

For me, the thing that almost makes me only use Apple bands is the connector fit. It drives me insane that third parties almost always fail to make the connectors fit precisely and firmly. Regardless of how nice the band is, that ruins the experience for me.

I wonder how many OEM bands fail the slide test at the factory.
