Hah, I keep my S0 in the same configuration with its SS link band and even almost identical watchface. When my spouse asks me why i dont wear it, I always say - "It belongs in a museum!"
Absolutely! I use the link on my active S4 so it has shamefully sat in a box. Well protected yes, but I have to say I prefer this design with the fully stainless back. Feels more premium, imho.

Give me one of these with the S4 / S7 screen…

I wonder how much the change was the sensors popping off and how much was just standardizing the back.

And then the wild card of giving the aluminum watches ceramic.

I would be extremely surprised if it was anything other than cost reduction. I seem to recall from one of the original commercials they machined all the components for band hardware from the remains of each individual cast. One would assume it’s gone to there!

It’s one of the few things I don’t like about the progress, prices increase as costs reduce. It’s still a quality product but would Tim’s Range Rover really go back to the dealer if they used 20% more steel?

I suppose there is the weight saving argument.

Well they didn’t test it with people who use lotion so the sensor being separate from the case led it to getting stuck to the wrist and popping off after awhile.

lol maybe they had a bunch of extra sand lying around from ceramic watches that never got made and it wasn’t that expensive to give all the watches a ceramic back.

Upgraded to the S7 45mm from S4 40mm and paired it with the Pride Nike sport loop.

Do all of you use those as your daily watch faces? I see a lot of watch faces with almost no complications - how do you all do it?!
I mix it up. I tend to use faces with complications doing the workday or when I am out and about being active. But when I am chilling at night or on my day off, I like to pick an aesthetic that makes me smile.

I use photos as my watch face on all my watches. All the complications I use are in my dock. Being retired, I don’t use many.

I love the photos face actually. I just wish we could have a couple more complications; maybe one per corner would be nice since I try and pick portraits that have the face centered.

I just started automating mine using shortcuts. I use the 'breathe' one with the 'I AM' complication on the bottom during wind down, but infograph all day with max complications. Lol it's super super ugly but after having so many complications it's hard to go back. Then I see everyone's beautifully minimal watch faces and I'm so torn!!

I like California and gradient as a nice happy medium. You can make them pretty but they also have lots of complications. I use Infograph when I’m working out. I use a ton of different apps when I work out and have them all set up in that face.

I hear you. The minimalist faces look great, but it's hard to give up complications. This is where I wish Apple would help by designing several more great looking faces that also support multiple complications. Corner complications on the photos watch face also would be great.

ditto. I have an automation that will set a watch face for a workday and set another watch face for evening or weekend.
