Midnight leather link arrived this week. I like it, but wish Apple still had a true black option. Midnight is navy in some lighting and next to blue things. In any case, I like the way it looks with the Starlight aluminum AW8.

45mm AW, S/M band size
I had AW4 in 44mm. The extra millimeter was noticeable to me as I thought 44 was already looking a little big on my wrist.
I love all of the SS photos. While I am super excited to receive my new Apple Watch Ultra, I will miss the SS finish. I completely understand why SS is not an option for the Apple Watch Ultra. I am debating if I should keep my 45mm SS watch and if I will even use it. Do any of you own (and actually use) more than one Apple Watch?
It’s already unavailable online or in any nearby stores in my size (4), and a couple of other sizes too 😱
I feel the SSS would/will totally complement the Ultra. The rugged one for the daily grind, the elegant one for going out.
Once you put on the ultra you will never go back

I too…love the Silver SS AW‘s. I’ve had it in S1, S3, S5 and now S7. Intermixed was SB SS S2 and Product Red S6….loved them both too. But, the Silver SS has a traditional watch finish and is so neutral (ie it goes with just about any band and can be used for anything from workout wear to business suits!
I‘d say that unless you can get a great price for your S7 SS, keep it! You’ll appreciate having it when you‘ve got a nice date and want something a bit less rugged to wear…or when you need to dress up in general! I plan to keep my S7 SS for a while and perhaps add an aluminum model next year for fun (ie if they radically update the design…square shape, etc…). Maybe another product red one
. Or, who knows….maybe add the Ultra 2 into the mix at some point. Bottom line….I wouldn’t give away the SS S7 (ie meaning…selling it for a really low price)

Speaking of Product Red aluminum. I have to say I love it, we went to the Apple Store yesterday and spent some time trying on watches just for fun and I actually loved the red watch. I had never really entertained the red watch before. Not sure if the S8 red is different from S7 but man the fire red looks fierce! Yes it would be limited on matching bands but with a proper band to go with it, it just looks awesome!
Just realised that my new strap can be used both ways? Have anyone else noticed this?

No it can't be used this way.... at least not securely - I'd suggest you use it the intended way to avoid any damage ;-)
