Yeah I think my confusion was a mix of those uninformed support reps and the parallel discussion trying to confirm SBSS Hermes details that Apple buried a little.

I don’t know that I’d attribute it to cost-cutting. Can you do a DLC mirror finish?

Agree about having way more character than SBSS. It really shimmers and shines! 💘

It will be interesting to see how it holds up compared to my (immaculate) SBSS. I’m not planning on babying it, and I‘m not so worried about scratches in any event. Especially if it gains even more character! 😄

Oh! A bit disappointed... I was expecting more black than grey. It is pretty, but too similar and lighter....? At least with steel I think it will look fantastic.

You're absolutely right. In person they look exactly the same. I just bought it as a backup for my charcoal ones because I wear them 99.9% of the time. I've already managed to lose a charcoal band last year. So I decided whenever Apple brings out a new black-ish braided solo loop I will buy one.

Same case here: I have a charcoal that used 90% of times and its a bit loose now. So I was waiting for a new darker braided version, expecting something a bit more black to replace my everyday favourite band.
Is it that similar in person? 😔

Yes, absolutely similar. If anything the midnight is a bit lighter, but almost not noticeable. But at least it's not a blue black. I've washed my charcoal ones in warm water to make them a bit shorter again. It really helped a lot.

Ok. But the color tone. Is the green, warm green as the CG or more cold green with blue tones.

Looks like there’s blue tones in there. Not sure if you remember Peacock Leather Loop. It reminds me a lot of that color. [mention]athousandbands [/mention] can truly vouch for it though when he responds.

No it’s like Mallard or Dark Teal (sport bands) but with a good extra heap of color. Really a color Apple has never done before.

Someone else asked which way on the blue/green scale it leans and as I answered truly it’s right in the middle. Two big threads on this forum, info sometimes gets lost, sorry.

Mallard/colvert hermes lean a little more blue, this one just feels like an iridescent peacock feather.

Didn’t think to compare to Peacock LeLoo yet
