I'm still standing behind my conspiracy theory that they left the bezel huge with the full intention of shrinking it later.

„Huge“, lol. You make it sound like an S3.

My theory is that on the S7/8 part of the bezel is „hidden“ behind the curve of the Watch body. Ultra doesn‘t have this opportunity because of the protective titanium lip.

It's making the G1 Ultra "bad" on purpose to make the G2 Ultra look better.

And risk the G1 to be a flop?

I need to see it in person but huge sounds like an overstatement

I will say this: if you use „full bleed“ watch faces most of the time, I can see someone prefering the S7/8. Other than that, the Ultra screen is just next level.

I think the screen protector feel I get is probably because the bezel apes my paper-style iPad screen protector very closely, the area outside of it that’s still raw iPad glass.

And I can’t imagine not using a full bleed face.

Yep…it tells time ! Lol……………I do like my SBTi S6 also but the size difference is noticeable against my my natural Ti S7. I would prefer an SBTi S7 though instead of my SBTi S6.
I love the Ultra but the lip has gotten some minor dents already while my other watches are mint!

I only occasionally use one because I do mind the very defined/obvious bezel edge, even on S7. Also the transition to always-on is a bit too „dramatic“ for my taste. Different folks …

Fall in love with it a little more each time I wear it. It’s a cool customer. Sunglow is super nice but this might be the color of the season!

I didn’t really like midnight when I first got it, but now I love it.

These colours certainly grow on you.

I never had any interest in succulent before, but the more I see it (watch The Juan And Only, over and over again) the more it appeals to me.

That band looks way too tight for your wrist. It must leave a terrible mark when you take it off.
