Not bad for a three year old laptop, I suppose.

Wow, you beat a 5 year old computer with a brand new one! :D

I got a Mac Pro a few months ago and the score is 23317, your MacBook Pro just got crushed as well :D :apple:

First of all this is the MacBook Pro notebook forums. Second, you benchmarked a desktop MacBook Pro with Xeon processors. So technically you didn't "crush" anyone.

I'm a bit confused: Both 2.2 and 2.3 2011 Macbook Pros show better results than my own 2.3 i7. I hardly get over 10500 points, and that is with 1600 mHz RAM that gets higher scores. My CPU calculations are lower than yours. How come?

are u using 64 bit geekbench?

Nope, only 32 bit. That would explain the difference if other people used 64 bit. Not exactly keen on paying for a one-time benchmark score. ;)

Geekbench score

My score was 10124 with the following information:

OSX 10.6.8
MBP 17 2011 2729QM 2.2 GHz, 8G RAM & 64G SSD

The score might be a little higher with the 64 bit version but I'm very happy with the performance. The geekbench score reflects what I already knew - the performance is great. :)

So apparently it is fine to post that a laptop "crushed" a desktop but not vice-versa. What a very confused way of thinking.
