It's covered by apple care plus if you purchased that. I still wouldn't shower with my phone however.
I've always showered with my gen 1 Watch but showering with a device with the power spot open unlike the Apple Watch with magnetic charger scares me...

I've always showered with my phone in a freezer ziplock bag lol

Used the touch screen with wet fingers?
Yep, just blew hard on the screen first to get the water off of it. I managed to text with no issue.

I have Applecare+ so I'm not too worried. This phone is going to be used and abused over these next 12 months.

As long as no soap is involved I don't see the issue. I'm planning on doing the same watching some NBA highlights or football in the morning for example. Luckily got a nice stand so I can pop it up while showering without getting any shower gel near it.

That's a good idea actually, I need to get some sort of a stand that I can attach to the shower wall so I don't have to put it on the floor.

And soap is most certainly involved but I just rinse it off after. Had soapy showers with the Watch on many times and haven't had issues.

Why even risk it? Would I take it in the tub with me? Yes. Would I purposely get it wet? No.

For me it's a safety feature like air bags or anti-lock brakes. Don't need them but when things go sideways it's nice to have that protection. Look at the water test that Cnet just did. Right off the bat the front speaker stopped working and never came back.

Good recommendation, some sort of shower caddy sounds good for watching video.

If listening to music just keep the darn iPhone outside of the shower, you should easily be able to hear it with the volume up.

I thought the same about my watch, but since I have AppleCare I went for it. I've been swimming with it a few times and haven't had any issues. :)
Same here. Been swimming with my Watch for over a year now. :D

Or get a bluetooth shower speaker for $20.

I did it yesterday because I was expecting a text. Didn't do it today though. Just a nice option to have.

Are people really that tied to their phones that they need a shower mount to watch videos and text? My wife gives me crap for taking the phone in with me while I sit on the can. But this is on a whole new level.

No, I placed it down on a smooth ceramic tile.
;):) Nice how you liking the jet? I have matte and thinking of switching

It's absolutely gorgeous, I was on the fence whether to upgrade from my 6+ or not but this Jet Black really sealed the deal for me and I'm glad I did. Sure, it's a fingerprint magnet but I really don't care. I'm not keeping it in a case and I have no plans to baby it. iPhone 8 in 12 months. :D

Lol BUT there are people I see in the wild everyday latched unto and mesmerized by their smartphone. Gripes, wanna know how many people just walk straight at me with their eyes buried at the screen?

I'd be surprised if we don't see some type of head gear soon with their smartphone hanging alongside their face. :)
