I have been using the adapter with Bose QCs and I know what you mean. There is not enough side tone. At first it bothered me so much that I would just slide my headphone slightly off my ears and it sounded much better, recently I have forgotten to do this and have long calls with it not bothering me anymore, although I may be talking too loudly then.

Last night I also found myself talking to loud and the person i was speaking with heard tremendous background noise (I was in a Star-bucks in an airport), while I heard nothing but my caller. I heard no background noise and hardly myself (still a problem). So it seams like the mic does not transfer any sound to the earphones. I really don't like it, but will use it (and hopefully get used to it) as it is convenient to still have on the Bose QC-3's from being on the plane and then just being able to start talking without changing to the iPhone earbuds (even though i carry these and use only these when not having to use the QC-3 like while in airplanes/airports.

I agree. The earbuds allow your voice to leak into your ears. It seems that the iPhone returns little or no sidetone (your voice) back to the headests of any kind. The QCs make it more obvious. I've become used to it although not ideal. But the sound of the people I talk to is very clear. Oh well. Maybe a future software update will deal with the sidetone issue.

Picked up the Shure MPA-3C at the local Apple store today. It seems to work fine, the length is perfect with the e500 earphones. I do notice a bit more GSM noise pickup than without it, so I'm wondering if it isn't shielded well enough. That's only when I hold the phone right next to the microphone, which is about where you would hold it if you were checking your calendar or browsing the web while talking on the phone.

Shure e2c's

does anyone know how well this adapter works with the e2c's i see the above posters headphones are considerably shorter than my cord. If i have e2c's should i buy one at all, should i get one and get new earbuds, or should i get the ultimate buds. I'm torn, it doesn't necessarily have to be the cheapest alternative that i will go with, but obviously if i can save money im not gonna turn it down.
