Why can't apple offer multiple sizes for their iphone just like what they do with:
- Macbook Pro
- Macbook Air
- iMac
- iPad
- iPod

Quite literally, iphone is the only one with only a 4" screen (and please don't count previous iPhones, coz those r basically old products). Come on Apple.... I'm starting to get tired of waiting!!!!!!!!!

You're assuming every person that upgraded from the 3G/4/4S to the current 5 is because of screen size. My wife and son upgraded from the 3G to the 5 because their phones were old, and in need of an update. I did the same going from the 4 to the 5; in need of an update. Had nothing to do with the size of the screen. It's a nice benefit, but not the sole purpose of the update.

If you have numbers to back your claim, please post. I'd be interested...

I'm not assuming everyone did it for that reason, I said "a ton of people" did, which is true.

I like the screen increase of the 5 but I would really like to see them tack on half an inch in width to the screen.

Completely agree. Offering two iPad sizes doesn't seem to be a problem, so why can't they do the same for the iPhone?

I'm considering leaving apple because I want a larger screen. Not because I want to use android or any other os.

Apple are just forcing my hand to abandon them. :(

does anyone complaining about screen size in this thread even have an iPad?

Yeah I have a retina iPad. I use it at home, I don't use it out and about.

And no, I don't want to carry and iPad or iPad mini plus my iPhone 5 around with me.

Just give me a 4.7 to 5 inch screen on my phone and ill be a happy camper who will never look at the S4, htc one or any other large screen android phone ever again.

I left feedback begging them to never increase the size of the screen and to always keep one-handed use a priority when designing the phone. Thanks for the link!

The smaller screen is the reason i went with an iphone 5
going from a 4.3" HTC thunderbolt to a 4" iphone was great. I don't like big phones though. My wifes galaxy s3 just feels too big to really use with one hand and the galaxy s4 being bigger just doesn't make me want it any more.

Still unsure about ios. i've been happy with android for years and going to ios just feels like going back a few steps

GS4 is actually smaller then the GS3.

I'm not saying there is no place for a smaller screen. The iPhone 5 feels great in the hand and is easy to,use one handed.

There are some of us though, that are willing to forgo ease of use one handedly for a larger screen.

We just wish Apple gave us that option. Just like they have screen size option for all their other (ok iPod touch not included) devices.

Thing is, Apple could offer a model with a larger screen without taking the smaller one away. I can absolutely see why someone might prefer the 4"-screen, but that doesn't mean that a 5"-inch iPhone wouldn't find appreciative buyers. Just like someone who buys an iPad Mini isn't making a statement against the bigger iPad; they just happen to prefer that size.

I did the same. I even asked "Pretty Please" in my post to them, not to increase the width. I want a mature looking phone with the ability to use only one hand. Let those that want wider phone they use as a computer go elsewhere. :p ;) :D

iPhone screen size

The whopping 4 inch screen simply sucks. If all I wanted was a phone then it would be perfect and the price of it should be $3. Apple get off your duff and quit releasing an "s" series of minor upgrades every other year and go out and innovate with a 5 inch iPhone 6 release this summer.

Lets hope Apple ignores selfish self centred people. ;)

Then Apple fans won't get to throw fragmentation as an Android issue into arguments anymore.

Given that this thread is about SCREEN SIZE, why would you make that statement? Last time I checked, 5 inches was bigger than 4.8 inches.

And who's the genius who upvoted this post?

I'm going to request that they keep the same size screen or drop it back to 3.5 inch. Would really prefer the 3.5 inch screen over all other sizes. I don't like the idea of a bigger screen. Bigger screen means bigger phone. Much harder to use and carry. Why people want these humongous screens that require a backpack or briefcase to carry is hard to understand. Even if they were to reduce the size of the iphone back to 3.5 inches I bet a majority of the people complaining about wanting a bigger phone would still buy the iphone.

Then you'll get these idiots who can't decide between getting a 3.5", 4", 4.5" or 5" iPhone. And they'll try each size and return each size and never be happy.

the more days past, the more i hate my iphone 5.... it's excellent at everything, but when it's used for browsing the web, it just hurts my eyes... i dont wanna switch to android just because android sucks balls...

i just submitted a feedback telling apple how pissed i am with the small iphone 5 screen.... all of you guys should do the same, here's the link:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/

Unless the screen has gotten smaller since you purchased it you have no one to blame but yourself. If you want to suggest Apple make a larger phone or tell them that they need to make a larger phone to keep you as a customer in the future that's one thing. But to say you're "pissed" at Apple is ridiculous, they didn't misrepresent the phone or trick you into buying anything.

Waaaah! I bought a Ford Focus and it only has 150 horsepower! The new Camaro has 500! I'm pissed at Ford! Waaaah! I bought a 46" TV from Samsung and now LG has an 80" TV! I'm pissed at Samsung!

Exaggerate much?
