I've always been taught to walk on the right since preschool, but I usually walk on the left (perhaps because I'm left handed) or the right if I just happen to be on the right side.

You'll get your squealing bollocks kicked at my school if you disturb the flow of traffic in the hallways. No walking on the left, no merry chats with friends, and certainly no reading e-mail (I've been guilty of that one.)

In general, I always push my way through people even though I'm relatively short. It's a fast paced, cut throat world and you either need to keep up or get out of the way.

I try to walk towards the traffic (on the side closest to the road) at all times, but it's not always possible.

Chest out, chin up, arms down and flared outward, both hands in a fist. Walk straight down the center of the sidewalk and don't move for anyone. Psycho look on your face.

Men will fear you. Women will want you.

ahahaha

Right side ;)

brilliant, isn't it? I love when it comes up on my iPod when I'm walking down the street. It's almost... inspirational! :D

Hey! I rather think your legs are dangerous enough as they are:eek::p

It's too bad the Verve aren't around anymore...I loved Coldplay playing this at Live8, though.

not to take this TOO far off topic but... Richard Ashcroft is still around. I thought I heard The Verve were going to get back together for a little tour in the UK this winter sometime.

I'm there...too bad my US currency is worthless, though...

Back on topic!I love sidewalks!

Wherever there is space really. My bigger peeve is more people walking with impunity whilst carrying an umbrella.

Try Singapore. Everyone walks slowly, no one walks in a straight line. People will stop anywhere completely oblivious to anyone else around them. But the beauty of this place is that no one complains, everyone is polite and it just seems to work.

Does take a little getting used to though, especially coming from London.
