OpenTable and VSCO updated their apps, without Sign In With Apple just before the deadline. Looks like they don't plan on adding it any time soon.

1 week to go before Sign In With Apple becomes mandatory with each app update.

Yeah I really wanted to use both of them but not without Sign In with Apple.

The iOS 14 announcement that Sign In With Apple is being updated with a feature to upgrade your existing app account to Sign In With Apple will be welcome by many here. Kayak is the first app to enable it.

Just keep in mind that that will remove your ability to keep your email private because the app will have had your original email that it can now associate with your Sign In With Apple account.

Still, it’s good to have the option.

Yelp has got to be the sneakiest app, trying to get around Sign In With Apple requirements.

When it’s not able to get my old account where it knows my email, using my IP or old caches, it will outright break Sign In With Apple and then suggest you sign up with your email instead.

Apple really needs to get on top of closing these loopholes.

Personally I wish that Apple would build out it's own replacement for Yelp in Apple Maps..

That’s the obvious thing. Paraphrasing Steve Jobs, Yelp’s restaurant reviews isn’t an app, it’s a feature. It would be so easy to allow Apple Maps users to give restaurants a star rating. More advanced would be allowing Maps users to submit user photos and written reviews. This should all be integrated into Apple Maps.

That just looks like a glitch. Apple has tested it working properly before approving the app submission. Try again. I won’t categorise this as a sneaky attempt.

Does anyone know how you would use your SIWA account if the website version doesn't have the button for it? For example I used SIWA with Just Eat app but the web site only has Facebook or standard email sign in.

Yelp is such a mess. I signed up with Yelp using siwa on my Mac from their website and now when I try to log in to it on the app on my iPhone it wants to create a new account using my Apple ID, it doesn’t seem to realize I already have an account created with Sign In with Apple.

Yelp’s Sign In With Apple signup worked just fine when they were able to pull the cache from my old account. In fact, even though I used a hidden email, it pulled up my old account (that I had deleted!!) and Sign In With Apple worked flawlessly. Now, without an old account to tie into, Sign In With Apple breaks and asks you to sign in with an email instead.

The only one who doesn’t find all of this suspicious is @akash.nu. 🤷🏼‍♂️

you’re forgetting the fact that Apple has tested the app before approving. And they do test new features properly. So what you see is either a potential loop hole in the sign up logic or some generic issue with the system. I say again either send them an email or try again later.

You’re forgetting that the tester would have already had a generic Yelp account to test earlier versions of the Yelp app, which like us, would be either saved in cache or traced back to Apple Park’s IP and the device ID. Missing subtle things like this during App Store approvals is not uncommon. Look at Hey that was accidentally approved. And look at Pinterest that hides Sign In With Apple in the fist launch, only showing it in subsequent launches which an App Store tester might not notice. These things slip by quite often.

With the deadline for Sign In With Apple approaching in just 7 days, a change to App Store policy has opened a loophole that may now allow developers to not include Sign In With Apple in their upcoming app updates even if they come after June 30th.

Apple says bug fixes for existing apps will no longer be delayed over guideline violations except for those related to legal issues.

After the contraversy with Hey, developers will be able to release updates to their apps if they're just bug fixes which most updates tend to be. This will allow them to delay adding Sign In With Apple until they're ready to update their app with new features.

Laybare has added SIWA. However it very sketchy, it only showed after several restart, and then second try of using SIWA the option to hide email that was available initially was removed, then social log in was removed completely on the following restart. It is not consistent.

We're getting close to the deadline folks. So great to see SIWA in so many places now.

Skip The Dishes has redesigned their login page. I must say, it’s beautifully designed and shows the variety of ways in which Sign In With Apple UI guidelines can be used effectively.

There’s also a way in which to link your existing account.

Everything works flawlessly.
