Watch these videos. As you do, note the signal strength indicator - top right.

Sometimes the meter shows zero signal on the home page only, however, as soon as you open any app or swipe up (iPhone X) the correct signal immediately displays. When the signal displays no bars data and voice still work normally.

I have no idea what causes it. The fix is either reboot or in display settings turn bold on and off.

It happens to me once a day.

Not sure if it’s an iPhone X issue or an iOS 11 issue.

The videos are from my phone and a colleagues phone (both iPhone X). Anybody else had the issue or knows how to fix it? Reset network settings does not.

The left status icons are insanely unreliable on my X. The signal bars show no service on some screens but not others, and icons will randomly just outright disappear. I've had the signal and battery completely disappear, leaving only the wifi indicator on multiple occasions.

Also the LTE symbol is sometimes smaller than normal. It's a mess.

A mess hopefully iPhone OS 11.3 will fix.

Now the same thing is happening with the battery icon.

Happens on my phone and friends too. I’ve had a tech to let open with Apple for 3 months and it’s still not fixed
[doublepost=1523523763][/doublepost]Here you can see in an app it’s fine. Home screen it’s missing.

Reboot or settings/display/bold/un-bold temp fixes it.

On 11.4 and issue still exists. It usually happens for me after turning on airplane mode for night and turn off airplane mode at the morning. It resolves after reboot.

I opened a bug report at 25 March (ios 11.2.something) but not get fixed yet...

It’s pathetic. iOS 12 is almost out and bugs introduced in iOS 11 still exist.

Quality control at an all time low.

Bugs of one sort or another will always be there, just as it's essentially always been the case.

While that is true I’ve had a developer case open with Apple for almost 12 months over this.

It’s not acceptable. Give them slack and they’ll take it and the problem won’t get resolved.

I’ve kind of given up expecting things to work as advertised with Apple nowadays.

It’s been a year with this bug. What ever makes you think Apple can be bothered to fix it now.

iOS 11 is just buggy from the ground up.

signal strength indicator from my experience is not the most accurate
The indicator appears to disappear when there is no signal

That’s not the issue. The peoblem is the indicator disappears on the home page but open any app and it re-appears. Go back to the home page and it’s gone again.
