How is your experience using silicone case, does it catch too much lint, dust, stains and is it washable? I have used the leather case and thinking of trying silicone case for different colors but I do like to keep my phone and case pretty neat looking so wanted to know from those who have used before

I’ve never had an issue with the silicone case and lint, dust or stains. I have been using alcohol wipes on it to clean it and it’s still good as new. In fact, the grip on my Alaskan Blue is perfect right now.

In my experience, some amount of dust and lint when the phone is in my pocket. Never used alcohol, maybe I will try in the future.

In these days I prefer my product red silicone case. A little bit of lint and dust when in pockets, but nice protection, wonderful color and high grip.

Maybe tomorrow back again to leather ahahah 😂

They both have their pros and different uses.

For day to day I use the silicone case. It is wearing in the corners but has no discolouration.

I previously used the leather case day to day but wasn’t a fan on how it patinas

Yes, no colour change with silicon but I really prefer the leather to touch and to put in my pocket. Each one has got their cons, and I’m still not able to decide wich one I prefer 😅

After some days naked, putted back my product red silicone case. I have to admit that grip improve a lot with this kind of case.

I just ordered a leather for my XS. Have had the red silicone since purchase in June 2019. The silicone is pealing off both sides of the bottom. I feel like I should get more than a year out of a $40 case but 🤷‍♂️ Hopefully the leather will last longer...

Yes, silicone peel off. But in my experience with silicone (6, 7, 8plus and XS), only my red product silicone case for iPhone 7 peeled off and pnly when I sold them (iphone and case) to a friend of mine that for sure mistreated the case 😅

I always wanted to try the leather cases I do too have paint peeling off of my white Silicone case

Does the outer border shell of the leather case get loose? From time

Is there a a specific color silicone case that actually holds up well to finger prints and lint ? Or is the black Leather the only case that holds up well from that plus patina ?

Silicone for 2 reasons:
1- better feel in the hand. Not many cases can match the smooth yet grippy soft touch as apple silicone.
2- you can just wash it in the sink every once in a while as your washing your hands. I hate greasy feeling cases so cleaning them every once in a while is important for me.

Which one? And why?

For me leather is more nice (except for bright colours) with patina, but silicone is better for water resistance and bright colours like Product Red (that’s my favourite). But I’m unable to decide

Definitely Leather for me. The Silicone cases do not age well and they attract a lot of lint and other stuff to stick on the surface, and also overly grippy to the point where they can make it harder to slip the phone into a tight pocket, where the leather simply slides in.

Leather is much nicer because its easier to slide in and out of my pocket. The silicone sometimes gets "caught" on the pocket.

Leather is also classier, especially black.

Exactly this!

Wow I am glad I am not the only one who had these struggles with the silicone!

I still have a silicone case that I use when going to the shops so that I can sanitize my phone without worrying about the leather, soon as I get home though I take the phone out the silicone case and straight into the leather one. I only go to the shops once a week since the pandemic/lockdown began.

Last famous words: today a chip in the bottom right corner of mi iphone xs case :(

I have both, Midnight Blue Silicone and Meyer Lemon Leather, I’ve owned quite a few different colors and makes, they both have their pro’s and cons, but I really love and prefer the leather case.

I always preferred leather but with 14 Pro Max the phone would pop out quite easily at the corners so have switched to silicon for the time being which seems to not pop out at the corners so far.
