I actually dislike using the term "PC" to refer to computers loaded with the nasty. To me, PC's are "standard" x86-based systems. PC's do offer great bang for your buck...just install a sane OS on them.
I have been fortunate to never have run windows on any of my personally-owned computers. On PC's, I migrated from DOS to OS/2, then to Linux and *BSD. I was never interested in Mac OS until the UNIX-based OS X came out. Then it was finally worth of consideration.
Sorry to wandering off topic. I just feel that "PC's" get a bad rap due to the inferior OS that is often found on them.
