Simple thread. I was curious for those that bought a 16" MacBook Pro in silver what you thought of it? Did you go back to silver after having SG?

Also do you have any pictures of videos of it? I can't seem to find any YouTube videos of it.

Thanks in advance!

I went with silver again for my 16 MBP. I never really got into the space grey craze, and I guess I'n stuck in my ways.

is 2019 silver different from 2011+ silver?
It looks shinier to me. Like before the 2016 redesign they had a darker silver as the only color, and then swung in both directions, space gray even darker, and the new silver lighter.

I like mine a lot; wanted something different from my 2016 SG. I like both colors. The Apple on the silver seems shinier. Great looking machine.

Thanks for the feedback. Any chance you could share pictures of it? I don’t think I can get to an Apple store until the end of the week.

I'm still in love with Space Gray because I've had so many silver Macs. In fact, let me see if I can remember them all. There was the 12" PowerBook G4, the first 15" MacBook Pro with the silver keyboard, the MacBook Air, the 15" MacBook Pro from 2014, and a bunch of other models that I have accumulated without ever using them as my main machine. So there's certainly nothing wrong with silver, but there has just been so much of it that I wanted something different.

After using a a space gray 2017 15” I’ve wanted to go back to silver for the past year. Space gray doesn’t even look gray in most lighting conditions while the silver retains its natural color

Space gray is the color to go for. The silver looks dated like when everyone drove silver vehicles in the late 90’s / early 2000’s

Sliver 16 here. Had SG MBP in the past. Sliver looks so classic and most of all easy to clean I believe. And hard to notice marks or dents if you have any in the future. Maybe just me o_O

I just recently ordered a 2019 MBP 15 Silver after seeing comments on the web that the Space Gray shows scratches more than the silver. I then refunded that laptop and ordered yet another MBP 16 also in Silver. It's a personal preference but I like the silver more, to me, it looks more professional, stands out from all the Windows laptops out there when you're in a cafe or whatnot. The Space grey to me is just dull and ugly. No offense to anyone who likes the Space grey, just my preference.

Ahhh gee I REALLY wanted to stand out in cafes with my new MacBook Pro. Guess I’ll throw my space Gray in the trash because it’s not “professional” ok ok there are preferences but calling space gray unprofessional Because you have a preference on color is absurd.
silver is dated. Space gray is a new color only being offered the last few years on macs.
both colors are still equally as professional

Studies show that employees using Space Gray are 7.43% less productive because they waste time in office bragging about their Space Gray laptop.
Damnit I never got that promotion Because I had a space gray laptop. gimme a break people it doesn’t matter. Life is too short to care about what other people think. In the end it doesn’t matter get what you want. no you won’t have more opportunities owning a silver MacBook Pro.

I chose silver for two reasons. First, SG is usually the default choice that most stores stock and it looks a little overused to me now. I’m the guy that orders a car in an uncommon color just because I don’t like blending in. Second, silver won’t show scratches the way that SG does.
