walked in on a hunch and walked out with the sliver 1.1 base model $1299

They didn't know they had it, weren't sure they could sell it once they found it. Got the manager involved who couldn't find a reason not to sell and told them (with some griping on their part) to sell it to me.

Very impressed with the overall look/feel/build.

Feels in some ways the the old powerbook g4 12 inch which till now was my favorite mac ever

would love some powerbook 12" and macbook comparison shots :D

I finally got off the fence and bought the 512 SG. I have a long flight coming up on Monday so I am interested in seeing how well I travel with it in the field.

I think you'll be quite pleased. The SG is quite sharp. Enjoy!

But I put it online to see if it would work and gave the 10% discount :)

That's entirely untrue. At least with the current gen coupons. They do not work online. When you put them in, they just say invalid. It's the coupon's serial number, online just isn't setup for.

Though I'm sure push comes to shove if you buy online and then get the item, then take it in and exchange it for itself with the coupon it'll give you the difference back.

Not true. Some of them can be used online. The most recent ones I got I had to put in a code online to actually get the coupon via email and that email came with an online code. YMMW though, some others I have gotten in the past have been in store only

Oh maybe they've changed. Both the ones I had from a month ago (from the movers packet) and the one I got the other day from doing the change of addy online, have serial numbers, and those can't be used online.

They do work online 100 % I just used one online from the movers packet via USPS. I'll bet you a million dollars :)

Your entering it in the wrong location prob like I did originally. I can screen shot it for you if you don't believe me. There is two separate areas. "Promo code" and "gift & savings code".

Or you just don't realize the old variant doesn't work online but whatever. ;-)

What old variant lol? I picked up a movers coupon at the post office last week from the packet & used it Friday online for store pickup lol.

The packet that comes with all the other crap like Lowes etc....

Want me to grab another one today and enter it online to prove? :)

I used it on a 2015 MBPR

Have you read the comments here? There are serveral varients of the coupon floating around, some expired, some that can be used online, some that cannot. I wish people would stop holding their single individual experience as gospel..

Well yeah, it's self explanatory that a "expired" coupon won't work online. As for variants, I've never come across one. But I guess you have. I know they are a single use as well.

I simply go to the post office and ask for a "movers packet". The one I picked up last week had a expiration date of late May I believe.

I assume if it's a coupon for people who recently "moved" it wouldn't last a year or 6 months even. I would think the whole idea is to get you in the store to use it so they can take your money lol.

Well yeah. WHY they won't take ALL of them online is beyond me. Their whole push is for online.

Ordered at 3pm yesterday and as of 8am CT this morning still processing I will give till the end of the day and still nothing I will cancel it

their cut off for same day processing is 1030, so it should process and ship today, with a tracking number. As long as you DONT see the order status flip back and forth between 'backordered' and 'preparing', you should be good.

I got the movers coupon on line. Cost a $1.50 or some such (cheaper than gas and time going to the post office). Used it on line for $130 savings. Could not stack the student coupon but I'm okay with that. The normal student discount from Apple on this is $50 so if BB wants to give me $130 in exchange for a $1.50 who am I to complain?

Which Best Buy did you go to? I went to 5 different stores and they all said they had none. Stores I went to:
Thunderbird
Arrowhead
Happy Valley
PV Mall
Chandler Mall

When I go to Scottsdale Quarter Apple Store later to pick up my on store shipping laptop, I'll update you with availability.

I would do that as well for a 1.50. But I'm at my local post office shipping stuff from my eBay store a few times a week. I know the lady. When I asked for a movers packet. She said.... How many do you want lol. I just one for now, I'm a honest man lol.

can you stack a movers coupon on top of an edu coupon code at the online BestBuy site?? I have an American friend who might buy me one

No but I just went into a best buy yesterday and had them complete the order for me in their system and they rang up the edu coupon and the movers. I did reg shipping. It was supposed to come 4/22 but now is on its way and ups is showing 4/20.

Best buy in Brooklyn seems to have tons in stock. Just walked out with a space gray

Just placed my order for a Monday delivery to my office! Once I see actual tracking, I'll cancel the order I placed last Saturday morning from Apple with a May 15-29 date!!!

I wouldn't have guessed that the space gray model would be the least supply-constrained. I'm extremely tempted to order one from Best Buy...but I know in my heart that I'd rather have the gold :)
