space gray, because you look thrashy with this years gold it looks so out of touch, reminds me of a thrashy ghetto LG phone

I much prefer this year's matt gold to the previous shiny, blingy gold.
I opted for silver but would be happy with the gold too.

I went with the silver and white. Wanted to try something different as be been with the black front since 2007.

Got the space grey and gold, wife took the grey and I got stuck with gold. Unfortunately it's all they had in 64gb, living with it.. Happy wife, happy life

Coincidentally the main reason I didn't get the nexus 6 is because it only comes with a black face.

Black/darker phones Just don't appeal to me.

Silver, Space Grey or Gold? Which did you get and why?

After having a black 4, white 4s, silver 5 and gold 5s I've gone for a space grey iPhone 6. I find the 6 is much sleeker in black than white this year. Very happy with my choice.

I'd wouldn't exactly call it shiny and bling last year. It was still matte, just a slightly different tone compared to this year.

To me the color on the back of the device is mute. The front of any ios device must have a black boarder to keep it from being distracting. To Me.
All of my devices have a black bezel and other members in my family insist on white.
Each to their own :)

I took black/space grey for two reasons.

one...black is my personal preference and two...overall popularity.

I sell my used phones to help pay for my new phones and black phones are the easiest to unload do to higher demand and popularity.

I think it's like buying a used car. You go on condition and price, not colour. Unless the car is lime green or bright pink, the colour is often not taken into consideration at all. White iPhones are perfectly saleable.

and you get to meet girls too cause only girls buy white iPhones ;):D

The only two girls I know who own iPhones have black ones, and I have a white one. They must be butch lesbians, and I'm obviously a closet homosexual.☺️

I never said that you couldn't sell other colors just that due to demand and popularity the black phones are easiest to unload.

just going by the poll in this thread the black/space grey is bought 3 to 1 compared to the other colors. that's 3 times the potential customers.

another reason I don't buy the white face phones is that I'm afraid that the white will discolor or yellow over time.

The poll doesn't show that if anyone was in the market for a used iPhone, that they would take a mint white one over a slightly less mint black one. A good condition iPhone at the right price will sell no matter what the colour. I always buy white iPhones, but if I were buying used I would take the best condition one I could find regardless of colour. It isn't like the choices are black, or beige. White phones and tablets are cool. Black are a tad boring and old school these days for a lot of folk.

Or it shows those who buy black iPhones spend more time on macrumors than people who buy White iPhones.

Always a way to skew the figures #

I don't understand what you are arguing.

no one would pick a beat up black phone over a mint white phone but the assumption is that both phones are of equal condition except for color. so I don't know why that's even relevant to the discussion.

what the poll shows is that with all things being equal people pick black.

I keep my phones in mint condition and that means they'll be more demand for my for my mint black phone over a mint phone of any other color.

I disagree. A good condition used iPhone will sell whatever the colour.

Schiesh
I like black. My daughter likes white.
I'm older. She's younger.
I'm a boy. She's a girl.
I like black. She likes white.
imo, I'm right.
It's all about opinion. I sell all of our old tech. They all sell at the same price. We keep our phones in excellent condition and keep the boxes they came in.
(White bezels bother me. White bezels do not bother her)
I'm still right. :D

if white bezels bother you people how do you ever read a book or a letter etc you must be going crazy

Huh?
Books are printed on non glossy paper, mostly. Books do not reflect the ambient light that surrounds us. Magazines with the gloss pages do bother me.
We are comparing an automobiles shiny finish to a cloth like piece of paper here. How is that relevant?

quite the contrary the old one is better this years gold one looks out of touch

I guess we should both have added "in my opinion".
I have never owned a gold phone but this year's was quite tempting. Previous gold iPhones looked tacky and blingy to me.

White/silver; white because I can't stand seeing fingerprints on bezels and silver because I've always preferred silver/stainless steel/aluminum to gold.
