Yes. I paid full price for my wife unlocked intel iPhone 7 Plus last year at launch and wish I waited 4-5 weeks for them for the Qualcomm sim free model.

I considered switching to Verizon right before they changed the new unlimited data plans in late August 2017 (I liked their new unlimited feb 2017 but hate their new new unlimited August 2017 plan)

But one of the reasons is we would have to buy her another $800-900 iPhone to work on Verizon and than sell the intel iPhone 7 Plus. Just a hassle. I had the Qualcomm universal 6s Plus so it would have been easy for me but not for her.

Our friends in same boat. They have att and want to switch to Verizon but don’t want to replace their intel iPhone 7 Plus.

It’s just annoying being limited. I’m happy with att don’t get me wrong. But just the option to move to Verizon or sprint. And we are being restricted
I agree 100%

AT&T phone won’t work at all on Verizon? I thought it could but would only works LTE if dropped to lower it would be like a no service. I guess I was wrong

This whole carrier issue in the US is bull crap. I hate the way Apple does this. It means theoretically only US gets INTEL modem??!!
Verizon and Sprint require the Qualcomm modem, everybody else including most of the world can get by with the Intel modem. Eventually Qualcomm will realize that by screwing over manufacturers isn’t going to end well for them.

Planning to get unlocked iPhoneX.. As I don’t have plans with any of the listed networks(Verizon, sprint,AT&T, T mobile)..I’m planning to go for T-Mobile( as it doesn’t asks for wireless number) with full payment...So is it possible for me to use any sim in it ??? And can I use it back in India also ???

T-Mobile full price at Apple is like sim free all you need to do is to take out the sim that came inside and throw it away
Is It working fine ???Because I’m planning to follow the same..

Yes

A Sim-Free X should be offered since sim-free is made available with the 8 and 8 Plus. I expect X sim-free to be available some time in Dec.

The 8 and 8 Plus sim-free were available for pre-order from the very beginning.
I know that. I'm just thinking the X sim-free may be delayed to allow carriers to make their money before the rest of us can purchase the sim-free version. Apple probably made the 8/8+ sim free available on launch since the X will follow right after.

I didn’t realize the Sprint models were the same as Verizon - so a full price Sprint X would work on with all carriers as well?

It was available in the US. It’s the model Best Buy was selling at full price + $100
I bought a Verizon X which are dual mode - CDMA and GSM, removed the SIM before I powered it on, popped in my cricket SIM, activated the phone, no issues.
