I wanted a small phone. Wasn’t expecting it though.

This.

Not interested in OLED (was not impressed with it when X came out, and gaming and video viewing is not important on the phone for me). Camera is not important as I have several digital cameras I can take with me when not taking simple snaps.

My 8 is doing fine, and with promises of efficiency improvements in iOS 13, might be able to hold out to 2020 (I'm usually on a three year replacement cycle). If Apple comes out with an iPhone 12 Mini (11 in a Pro size) might be interested, but can't see spending $1k for an 11/12 Pro for no value add for me. At least in my normal upgrade cycle.

120hz screen would have made me insta buy. Will have a look in store later as I'm really liking the green, will probably walk away with one. Cameras and computational photography, the incremental upgrades with the A13, screen, Face ID and battery will be nice to play around with. I don't think it will replace a dedicated camera, I just get too lazy bringing it and like to travel light, unless I specifically set out to take pics.

Waiting to see if and what storage versions come with 6gb ram (would be after a 256gb 11 pro). Also USB 3 transfer speeds on the lightning port for moving video shot with Filmic Pro.

I really wanted wide lens for the longest time and Apple did on front and back. I am happy with that.

First year I didn’t upgrade.

While I appreciate the better battery life, the XS and XS Max were already heavy phones. The new models are significantly heavier than last year’s models and slightly thicker. Hard pass for me.

On top of that, there’s not really anything new that’s noteworthy. Processor and camera upgrades are a given each year. I’ve been completely satisfied with both on my Max. This thing absolutely burns.

I would have upgraded if the new phones had some of these features:
- slimmer, more lightweight design
- reduced notch to include more info on status bar
- fully waterproof
- ProMotion display
- better battery life in a thinner design

I would have loved a “notchless” phone, 3 consecutive notched iPhones is somewhat lacklustre & exhausting:rolleyes:

Agree, they need to move to a 2 year cycle. For the sake of decency and the planet.

I'd love to see this regulated actually.

My biggest regret was giving up my iPhone X. Went to android a bit and miss iPhone so bought a XS which I regretted. Worst battery life by far on any iPhone above owned. Actually pissed me off to a point. I was constantly charging. My battery health dipped to 99% and haven’t even had the phone 2 months. So yeah when I heard 4 more hours of battery life I was sold to upgrade this year. The rest is a bonus. Cameras looks dope I’ll deff play around with that.

Why is having a fully waterproof smartphone so important? The new phones can stay under water (at 4 metres) for 30 minutes right? So if you happen to drop your phone in the sink or toilet or pond (???) then it's safe to say the phone wont have to be dashed into a bag of rice.

I didn’t upgrade last year because of rumors this year would be better upgrades. Now I hear the same about next year. The only thing I really want is no notch and the Touch ID back which is rumored for next year. But if it’s a whole new form I might not want the first of its kind anyway. I upgraded this year going from a iPhone 8 Plus to a pro and can annually. We will see what next year brings.

I want to be able to take my smartphone in a pool to take pics and videos. Not possible with current rating. Only meant for accidental drops, not for swimming.

Are you sure of that?

It will be my first time ever going backwards after a new release. Only thing cool was the ultra wide, IMO.

X to XS Max and now back to X until we see what the 2020 iPhones are about.

We did?!

Pencil..
It depends on which sources you believe. If I say something about the new iPhone, this doesn’t mean it will happen. But if several people with good reputation report the same thing, then it’s more probable. We knew it will be a minor update, with major change being the camera. This is what we got. The design is also what the leaks were suggesting, so I don’t see any surprises.
I’m also curious about the MacBook Pro, but people said end of this year or early next year, no one said September and also the Tile is just a project they’re working on, this doesn’t mean it has to be released with the iPhone.

Wow, currently nearly a tie. I'm surprised.

There should be a third option for "Wanted more, but the updates aren't as mediocre as expect."

That would have been my pick.

Not possible “safely”. You’re doing something that is not recommended and can damage your phone. Your risk.

And something that Apple consistently refuses to provide warranty coverage for.

Hope the Pro has 6 GB of RAM and true 2nd generation Face ID hardware (30% speed improvement is software based and will be coming to all Face ID iPhones running iOS 13).

If it's 4 GB RAM and the better angles/distances for FaceID are indeed software based like the speed increase and not hardware based, then this is a hard pass.

I lean towards being satisfied, but mainly because all of the improvements in this year’s Pro came in at the same cost as last year’s XS.

Satisfied but I also feel like they intentionally hold features back or are just stubborn to adapt. I would guess their roadmap is set in stone for at least 2 years, otherwise why did it take so long for wireless charging and features the completion has had for years.

I have an iPhone X...and I'm sticking with it. I just don't see much of an upgrade. I'm satisfied with the cameras and the phone is as quick as ever, even on iOS 13 GM.

I also don't know what more I'm looking for...but it feels like Samsung and other phone makers are just kicking Apple's butt. Some of the phones on the Android side look pretty awesome, but there's no way I'm going to Android. Would be nice to see some of the features over there come to Apple...or maybe wow with something different rather than catching up.

I’m satisfied. It was predictable. I’m surprised no Face ID upgrade like different angles and stuff.

HOLY SMOKES!

HAHAHA WOW! No Face ID upgrade?

For some reason I thought the feature where it'll recognize u laying flat on the desk was coming.

Guess it was a rumor, and STAYED a rumor.

Why did I order the iPhone 11 Pro lol I'm kicking myself right now!

My iPhone X is the same thing!!
