I didn't miss anything, I know the problem they had with there code. I was just curious to see what people are managing to get now that we should have the "real/true" readings.

my highest is 5 bars... but i always wondered why my phone had lower bars than everyone elses in the same room and realized my 3gs has the same issue as the iphone 4 *sighs*

I used to get 4-5 bars almost anywhere, now I get maybe 4 max. I really like this update though, it used to be that anything other than 5 bars essentially meant "No Service". I got 4 bars in a significant portion of town, but literally could not send a text or make a call. Now, my phone will either give me 1 bar or "No Service".

I used to pretty much get 5 bars home and in town but now i get 5 bars in town and 4-2 bars at home.

My max is this

Dude you've got mail. Oh and max = 5 bars.

I got around 2-3 bars at home, now it fluctuates from 1-3. Call quality has always been iffy in my house so there's not much of a change. Outside I get 4-5 bars.

In the newport beach, laguna beach, and dana point area, AT&T works great. We're still getting a maximum of 5 bars. It'll never drop below 3 bars around here

Your lucky.

@ my house I'm usually at around -96 db while holding but my signal fluctuates vastly, from -84db to -109db.

You changed it from having 4 bars when laying untouched and 3 or below when picked up, to this more formal explanation :p. Where do you reside?

Newport Coast, toward Newport Coast Dr from Spyglass Hill. I still get service and good speeds so it's not big deal but ya my bars are soo low now. Talking about service on the other side of Irvine (by the 5) I drop to Edge.

The sand and shady canyon area of Irvine has terrible service for both AT&T and Verizon from what I remember.

I'm usually at -74db which is 5bars just before it drops to 4 bars
my wife's 3GS sits at -89db which still shows 5 bars.

I kinda liked being lied to but damn the side by side comparison really shows how bad I was being lied to hahaha

I sometimes get 5, but usually 3-4. Looking back, I probably shouldn't have downloaded the ios 4.0.1 update and I didn't save my shsh blobs, so now I can't revert back to 4.0. I've not dropped a call with the phone though, so I guess that's what's important - not how many bars there are.

2 to3 bars at home and then none when I go do errands in the area. But it goes up to 5 bars when I am at work. I made AT&T give me a free microcell to see if it will help me with the signal strength. Btw, my wife's 3GS with the 4.0.1 has full bars and I just can't get it ??
