There is nothing wrong with trying out a new OS. No reason to bash someone who does and no reason for someone who does to bash someone who doesn't want to. Stop with the Apple sheep bull crap. If you feel that way go somewhere else.

Now with that being said I am going to try a new Android phone because I am getting sick of the 3.5 screen. I use all Apple products, imacs, ipads, iphones, apple tv, and my business uses all Apple products. But Android will integrate fine with all of them. Seamless.

Tried Galaxy S2 didn't like it. Went to MWC and dried ICS and loved it. They borrowed alot off of iOS. In a good way. Just like iOS borrowed off of them.

I tried the HTC one X and it is a well constructed beautiful phone. Bigger than the iphone, yes it is. But is it unwieldily. No. The screen is better in my opinion than the iphone 4S. The whole front of the phone is screen, like not having a home button and the glass goes over the sides so no more crap gets stuck in the side of the phone. Is is plastic, but the same kind of plastic they make hockey helmets out of. The same plastic the 3GS was made of. Only better matte finish and uni-body to boot. Made out of one piece of solid plastic.

I use Gmail for my main e'mail. and outlook for my work email. Android does both. Same as the iphone. Open documents. yep. I will still have a iphone 4s for work since it works better with my work since I am in the Apple eco system. But of reg use Android will fit the bill nicely until iphone 5 comes out or maybe even after it comes out.

It is every bit made as well as the iphone and better designed. Will use it until the iphone 5 comes out and will decide then on what to use. ICS is stable, and is very comparable to iOS. ICS is buttery smooth.

I had droids for 2 years and realized what junk they are compared to the iPhone. I just switched to my Droid X2 for the beach - its my junk phone. The droid is slow, the camera sucks, the apps are unstable, the gps is unreliable, the battery life is poor, and it reboots itself daily. I've had 6 different Droids, DX, DX2, droid incredible and DInc2. They are all garbage compared to the iPhone.

My daughter and wife still have their Droid Incredible 2s until they can upgrade, and have nothing but misery.

If you have a list of reasons to dislike iPhone that's fine. If you want to insult all iOS users you are nothing but a brainless loser Troll.

Serious question: when you say 'droid' are you abbreviating Android (the OS) or is that a model of phone hardware?

I think I will try android again if the iphone screen doesnt increase. I really prefer a slightly larger device for reading/movies, but not as large as the ipad. I have the new iPad and its a bit awkward watching some movies on the bus. While they are not over R rating, some violent/romantic scenes are a bit uncomfortable with someone sitting right next to you.

The most important thing for me though is LTE. If the iPhone doesnt have it, its a definite switch for me.

No way! I just got the iPhone 4S switching from a Droid, the Thunderbolt. Less then a year ago the Thunderbolt was the 'best' android phone and the phone to get. A month later it was obsolete, I despised it. The battery life also sucked. I love the iPhone I can usually ge 2 days on a charge, and I don't have to worry about it being obsolete anytime soon. Also at least Apple will support it for a while, unlike android. Another reason I'm not switching back anytime soon is because the apps on the iPhone are optimized for 960x640 Retina Display. On android there's all different resolutions. Anyway have fun with the Droid, hope you enjoy a the huge screen:rolleyes:

Oh, and I forgot the mention the iPhone's camera, it's amazing

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I actually HOPE they keep the current form factor. It's perfect in my book. I'd like to see better battery life and they can keep improving the optics and such, but I really like it just the way it is. I don't want a "huge" screen.

i hope they keep the 3.5 screen size as i wear carpenter pants and on my right leg is a space that my iphone can fit in with out a case for it if it bigger than what it is now i wont be able to do that.

If they come out with a bigger screen you will still be able to get the iPhone 4S to keep the size.

Mr.Incredible hasn't replied in any of the android vs iphone threads the past few days even though he has logged on and read the responses. Here is a ridiculous post he made in another thread:

So this kid who can't even figure out how to delete a file in OSX is making market projections and we are supposed to think there is some weight to what he is saying. Apple market share has gone UP since Windows 7. Typical troll retreats when actual real logic is used to argue against his opinion. Fail.
LMFAO, what? You're quoting a ridiculous post that I made in another thread?

Ok buddy, my username is Mr. Incredible, the person that you quoted is Invincible something. We're not the same person.

OK, your right, your not a troll, your a fifth grader, or maybe younger.
When my 6 year old throws a tantrum like that I give him a time out
and tell him he can come out when he is willing to behave.

Now, if you are a child, just so you understand I will type slowly and in small words.
People are not calling you a troll because you want to buy, or have bought
an android phone. They are calling you a troll, because when they respond
reasonably with things like " I like my IOS" or "I had a bad experience with android"
You respond by stamping your feet and calling other people names.

Personally, I don't care if you like IOS Windows 7, 8, or 9, or android.
You came onto a Mac and iphone site and started bad mouthing a product
that more than 70 % of the people who responded to your poll said they liked.

One of the things you keep saying is how boring the UI is. I didn't buy a
phone to have a fun UI, I bought a phone to work. Mine does, I hope yours does too.

There is a saying when we are a child we act like a child,
When we become adults, we realize it is time to put away childish
things, and act like an adult. Perhaps, you could put such advice to some use.
5th grader, really? :roll eyes:

I'm a lot older then that, but thanks for taking the time to write real slow and small words..lol.

I never responded to someone hating on them. If they like iOS, then good for them. I just find it stupid that people choose iOS, and only iOS, and aren't open-minded enough to try a different operating system. One person said that he/she will get an iPhone and only iPhone for the rest of their life. That's just dumb, because what if you try something different and like it?

There are people that go from iOS to Android, and Android to iOS; they're either happy or not. But they tried something different, instead of being hard headed, or a complete fanboy, like the way so many members here are proving themselves to be (come on man, don't act like you don't see it).

My phone works great, I love my Rezound; personally it's a huge upgrade over my iPhone 4, and I can't wait to get an even better Android device this November.

Don't lecture me about being childish when I'm clearly not. Some people just need to put down their ego..

----------

Sounds to me like you have a problem with Droid phones, not Android in general. Maybe you should stay away from Droids. I've never liked the look or feel of any of the Droid phones, but there's other very nice Android phones out there besides that one brand.
I was thinking the same thing, most of the devices he mentioned are Motorola.

Personally, I think that Android devices and the Android OS has really stepped up their game with the Samsung Galaxy S2, and with ICS.

I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves with Jellybean. :)

Excellent post.

I don't know exactly what Android copied from iOS (apps?), but I've noticed that iOS copied the Notification center from Android, and honestly, I prefer Androids Notification over iOS's. Besides that, the way Folders are displayed in ICS looks really great compared to the 3x3 grid that iOS has, which has been real tacky looking since the day it was introduced. The way you delete apps running in the background of Android is really nice compared to iOS.

With iOS, you have to Double-Click the Home Button, and then Press and Hold an icon to go into wiggle mode, and then press the x button to close it. Not only that, it just shows 4 apps at a time, which is lame.

With Android, you just press and hold the home button, and all you do is swipe to the right to close it. Super sleek. Plus, it doesn't show just 4 apps at a time, you can just scroll through it.

I bet that iOS will copy this and claim that they reinvented it. :roll eyes:

What's funny is he just got a Android phone himself and is praising it over the iphone now!

See: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=14701310#post14701310

Wow....he is banned now but either way what a dumb kid.

Lol, he's banned? Wow.

The stuff this guy said to me, and what he goes and does; I don't even know what to say to that..

No matter what the screen size, I'd much rather use iOS than Android. It's a question of priorities. The OS the device runs trumps the hardware spec for me.

But 3.5" screen+minor iOS update = Android/WP7 for me.

Exactly how I'm feeling right now, I'd love to go with the Lumia 900, but it only comes in 16GB and I hear the camera isn't so great.

The Titan 2 has a huge screen and a 16MP Camera, however the back of the phone looks so ugly :(

I wouldn't say the Thunderbolt is obsolete. If you are purely comparing specs then the iPhone 4 is obsolete. If you are comparing updates it got a gingerbread update in December and is scheduled for ICS. Don't really know what else you'd want really....

Make an L shape (index & thumb) with your hand. Put any phone in the L shape. If the length of the phone is taller than your index finger (to the top of the thumb) and the width of the phone is wider than your thumb... you have the wrong phone. :)

Does that include the case?:D

Where's the option to stay with Android? I'm waiting for Apple to release a larger display so that I can switch.

Wow...

Does anyone find the irony in the fact that there's people who want a bigger screen on the iPhone and a smaller screen for the iPad?...:D

I agree with Mr. Incredible (I've owned two iPhones....and have owned more than a dozen Macs, beginning in 1984....so I'm a long-time Apple Guy); the current iPhones do not measure up to the latest Samsung or HTC phones with 4.3"+ screens and running Android 4.0+.

But that's just my opinion, and I'm glad Apple sales and stock are doing so well. I was with Apple when it was essentially a "cult", when Steve Jobs got tossed and they were sooooo very close to bankruptcy -- twice.

I certainly would like the next iPhone to have a larger screen, and a GSM option to use a no-contract cell service SIM card.

Congrats and best wishes to the Android users .... and to the iPhone fans.

I've found this thread very interesting, and would like to throw my $.02 in as well. We have an iPad (1st gen), and are actually looking at buying the new iPad as well this week. In regards to tablets, iPad still rules the roost.

A few months ago my wife got the new iPhone 4S (well, not that new anymore) and I'm still plugging away on my HTC EVO. Now, I've loved the iPad, LOVE IT. It's not a laptop, for me it's a toy, a grown up toy (understand I realize it has real world application...I just don't use it for that) that is fun and just the ticket for playing online around the house. But when it comes to cell phones, I've learned that I'm android all the way. There seems to be a lot of OS vs Android bashing going on, which let's be honest is quite childish. Having been able to play with my wifes iPhone for hours on end, and then go back to my EVO has taught me a few things. First off, Apple's OS is great, it's flawless, it could be called timeless. BUT, and grownup Apple fans can admit this, the layout is quite linear and you are extremely limited as to how you can design the look and functionality of your phone. The catch? It works...it's the Toyota of cell phones, it won't leave you on the side of the road, a very workman like quality. But just as anything new you learn and adapt to it, which is why I love my Android. I like the ability to customize everything, and I like not being tied to itunes, that's just me and I'm not into the whole Apple integration thing. If I were I'm sure I'd be singing a different tune. It's Apples and Oranges folks (pun intended)...and quite simply I'm an orange...I'm not wrong, just different. But I'm not anti-OS, which leads me to my next point:

Now, screen size may not be a big deal to many folks, but it is to me. I still remember the first time I saw the gaudy Galaxy Note, I laughed out loud! Is this a joke? This is supposed to be a phone? I had my wife hold the gargantuan thing up to her ear to take a picture...it's ridiculous...and I freakin' love it. Those complaining about the size of the phones must understand, I'm a professional business man but I prefer wearing loose khakis/jeans with big pockets, I can see the argument if you're a tight jeans guy or gal but my EVO fits just fine in all of my pants and shorts. And yes, I even tested out that gargantuan Note and it fit as well. I for one like the idea of having a huge screen I can pull out of my pocket, you know what? It's almost like having my iPad, but my wife's iPhone just doesn't feel like that. The screen is just too small for me. When I sit down with my wifes phone to scour the internet I find myself pinching and zooming much more than with my EVO. Another thing for me is the iPhone cases, I just don't get it. You've bought arguably the sexiest phone on the market, and I swear EVERY iPhone owner I've ever seen has it enveloped in this huge, ugly case (I'm looking at you otterbox), making it's size...you guessed it...within millimeters of my EVO's. So right there the size complaints are moot. But I get it, it's made of glass, you've got to protect your investment...

Well, that's my rant, if Apple were to go to 4"+ I would include the iPhone in my list of possibilities (and do away with the front and back glass). For me large screen size is a must. Apples and oranges people.

It would be strange to see an iPhone with a 4 inch or higher screen lol. Because its always been 3.5.

If I had a problem with the iphone's screen size I wouldn't have gotten it in the first place.
